Chapter 7: On short notice.

Piero:

I walked out towards the back of the stage and there was a chaos of camera men, music crew, and the tour manager arguing with some poor guy like usual. Kate frowned, "what's that dudes problem?" She said motioning towards him. I sighed and walked towards him.

"Ciao Dan, what's going on?' I said coldly. He looked at me and frowned, and motioned for the guy he was talking to, to leave.

"The problem is, that these imbeciles at the airport lost your luggage. They say there was a problem with one of the doors of the plane where they kept the luggage and when they reached 3,000 feet in the air it opened and now Gianluca and Ignazio's clothes are decorating the country side." He said through clenched teeth. I gulped.

"What are we going to do, those were $500 Italian suits!" I exclaimed.

Dan shrugged and ran his fingers through his greasy messy hair.

"I don't know. I sent out one of the guys to get some temporary suits for them in the mean time, but he is stuck in traffic." He said glumly. I frowned, and looked at my watch. Their was only 20 more minutes til the concert started and Gianluca and Ignazio didn't have anything to wear, and the guy Dan sent out to get them new suits was stuck in traffic.

"What do you suggest we do then?" I asked helplessly. Dan looked up at me and frowned.

"Cancel?" He said sternly. I stared at him in disbelief, but was then cut off by Kate.

"You can't cancel! All those people came to see you guys, why don't you get an opening band or singer or something to keep them occupied til you get Gianluca and Ignazio's suits?" She exclaimed. I rose an eyebrow. "Where would we find someone on such short notice? Opening acts don't just grow on trees you know kid." Dan answered sarcastically.

Kate put her hands on her waist and smirked. "Well, it so happens I know a girl that could do it for you, and she's a professional singer and has sings in front of crowds like this all the time." She said coolly. I stared at her. "Who is she?" I asked confused. She grinned.

"Well, you already met her... Its Sheena." She said smiling. I thought for a few moments. I did hear her sing and she was quite impressive, and before she had tripped people did like her. She could do the before act to buy us some time. I turned over and looked at Dan.

"I have heard her sing and she is pretty good. I don't see why we can't ask her to sing a few songs and distract the audience until we are ready." I said calmly. Dan frowned and was then cut off by the sound of people crying out Il Volo from behind the curtain. They were getting restless because its almost time for the show.

"Fine, but you better get her here in 5 minutes max. I'll go out and tell the crowd that there was a delay and were bringing in someone in the mean time until we get the problem cleared up." He growled. He then walked away. Leaving Kate grinning as wide as cat, and me wondering if this was a good idea. She then placed her hand on my shoulder and consoled me that everything was going to go great. I sighed and handed her the VIP passes I had got from Dan.

"Here's the passes, and we better go get Sheena before it gets any later. Are you sure she'll be able to sing in front of all those people on short notice?" I said worried. She looked at me and smirked.

"You don't know Sheena like I do, she'll love to do it and help you guys out. Don't worry, Piero." She said contently. I sighed and forced a smile.

"I hope..." I said skeptically. Then we went off to the hotel room to get Sheena.

Sheena:

I watched Gianluca wave goodbye to Lucia as she went off with Barbra to go with her parents. Lucia had told me goodbye too, and gave me her e-mail so we could talk to each other. We had became friends while we hung out together. Gianluca then looked over at me and smiled. I couldn't help but melt at how beautiful his smile was, and the way his light hazel eyes seemed so gentle and warm.
