[day 35 of break]

The day after Autumn left was the worst. I sulked all day and didn't even eat when Zoë came in with my food. The doctors had to force feed me until I did myself. The week after that, I didn't leave my room. I wouldn't even let Ashton in to visit me. From there up until this point, I only talked to Ashton and a few people here. Kayla has done a great job cheering me up. She's actually really funny and helped me to forget Autumn for a little while. I found out Taylor left the hospital from what the nurses told me. I didn't know why but it was none of my business.

Today was the day. I finally get out of this stupid hospital. Since I wasn't capable of signing my own release papers, Ashton did it for me. I wanted to be comforted by Luke badly, but we all know how that would turn out. Ashton drove me to his house jsut because he didn't want me alone. When we turned on to his street there were balloons hanging from his porch. I could tell he was trying to contain a smile from the twitching of his cheek muscles. His dimples were showing themselves through his mask.

"What's all this?" I questioned knowingly. They obviously set up a welcome home party for me. I felt like I finally had some friends again. Ashton shook his head as he brought me inside. His smile broke out when he flicked the light on and yelled,

"Surprise!" We did not expect the sight we were met with.

Luke and Calum were making out on the couch.

They didn't even realize we came in. The kiss kept getting more heated as we stared. Ashton's and I's jaws dropped to the floor. I felt betrayed and hurt that Luke would do this to me, even though he admitted he hated me. I couldn't imagine how Ashton was feeling. Him and Calum have had a thing going. Ashton told me they almost had sex, which is a big thing. He said Calum stopped himself again. I wanted to punch Calum in his head because Ashton was so in love with him and then he does stuff like this. Ashton looked like he was about to break down and that made me so mad. I charged over to where Calum was and ripped him off of Luke's body. He whined and tried to squirm out of my grasp. I grabbed his neck and cut off his air. He started choking and trying to pry my hands from his neck. I released them some but not totally.

"What the fuck is this?" I howled. Calum's eyes widened when he saw Ashton over my shoulder.

"No, no, it's not what it looks like," Calum pleaded. I could here Ashton whimper behind me I and I was livid. I just wanted to snap Calum's little neck but I knew that wouldn't make anything better. I slowly put Calum back on the ground and he signed in relief. Luke was still sitting on the couch staring at everyone. If I could do what I wanted to him, he be on the lawn outside. He had one of those innocent faces that made him look like he didn't do anything wrong when most of this was caused by him.

Ashton clutched my arm in his shaking hands and tried to speak.

"Mi-Michael-l. L-let's just- l-leave them al-l-lone. I-I can't st-tand to b-be here with-th them," he pushed out shakily. Seeing Ashton like this helped me to realize my problem with Luke didn't need to get in the way right now. I needed to be here for Ashton because he's not okay. I nodded to Ashton and turned towards the two demons.

"Thanks for turning my welcome home party into the worst day of Ashton's life. Get a fucking life and stop ruining everyone else's." I made my way out the door with Ashton at my side. His shaking body made it hard for me to hold him but I managed. I put Ashton in the passenger seat and walked around to the other side. I wasn't supposed to be driving but I could care less at this moment. Ashton was in no condition to do anything let alone drive. I took him to my house because I didn't want him to be anywhere else.

Inside, Ashton wouldn't talk. He sat on the couch staring blankly at the wall. It broke my heart because I knew what he was thinking. That's how I felt with Luke. It felt like nothing could ever make you feel better. Like you're numbing your heart. I couldn't watch him turn into someone like me, he was too happy for that.

"Hey Ashton, I think I have something that will take your mind off of /him\ for a bit. Let me go get it." Ashton didn't move. I sauntered into the kitchen and to the cabinets. I leaned down to the cabinet under the coffee pot and got it out.

Jack Daniels, Grey goose, Jim Bean, and anything else to help us. We were going to drink the pain away, even if it wasn't the right thing to do. I brought all the bottles I could hold to where Ashton was. He looked over when I walked in and his eyes widened.

"No Michael. I might be sad but alcohol will not help. I won't drink that," Ashton pouted. I tossed him a random bottle I found and shrugged.

"It'll get your mind off of it. Just drink it."

"Michael, why do you make me do this?" He asked as he took a swig. His face scrunched up and he panted. I laughed.

"I didn't make you do anything."

We continued to drink until I laid down seeing stars. Ashton was laughing at the little hallucinations he was having. I counted to bumps on the ceiling and the amount of fingers on one hand.

"Ya know," Ashton hiccuped, "Calum's a dickhead."

"I know, mate, so's Luke." I accidentally dropped the bottle I had in my hands on the floor and it startled Ashton. He jumped to his feet and landed in a karate position. His arms were bent and up at his ears. His knees were bent and he had one off of the floor. He looked ready to strike. He silently lost his balance and landed on the floor. That caused me to laugh, which made Ashton start laughing. We both seemed to forget what happened earlier that day in the alcohol.

Alcohol is a great thing, isn't it?
