Saya's POV

The next morning, I woke up at 6 AM and followed through with my usual routine. Ya know, the typical brushing of the teeth, washing my face, getting dressed tying up my hair, etc.; the basics. This time, we were going on a mission, so I made sure to pack a bag with everything I would need. Everything I packed included:

• A scroll, for jutsu purposes.
• A canteen full of fresh, cold water.
• Extra weapons such as senbon and shurikan.
• Extra set of clothes for emergency reasons.
• Snacks such as protein bars and granola bars for boosts of energy.

I think I packed everything I needed, so I once again headed out of my bedroom window. It was only 6:38, so I had plenty of time to get there.

The chilly air of the early hours of the morning hit me in the face hard, sending a small shiver down my spine. My hair bounced in the wind as I ran along rooftops to the training grounds, allowing cold air to invade my neck.

I arrived at the training grounds shortly after I left my house, so I still had around 15 minutes to wait. Unfortunately, another person was there. Kakashi.

"Hey." I greeted the young boy upon seeing him. All I got was a glare back. Today, I really just wasn't in the mood for dealing with him.

"Why do you always have a stick up your ass?" I asked him, returning his glare right back to him.

"Why are you so annoying?" He shot back at me with his death glare still pinned on me. I rolled my eyes.

"You must be talking about yourself." I told him with irritation and he replied almost silently.

"Hn."

"Ya know, if you think I'm another one of your little fangirls, I'm not, so stop acting like you're so high and mighty. Just because you're almost a jounin doesn't mean anything, so am I. Quit your act of being better than everybody. It's annoying." I lectured him. I didn't even think I'd say it out loud since we barely know each other, but I was sick of his shitty attitude.

"Tch." Kakashi made an audible noise to express his irritation, while sending a typical glare at me. I rolled my eyes, whatever, I thought to myself.

"Ya know, you're really like a human popsicle. Don't you EVER loosen up?" I playfully rolled my eyes and gave him a goofy smirk. I don't know much about him, except that he's a stuck up prick, so I think I'll get all the more fun out of teasing him. I internally smirked at the idea.

"Don't you ever shut up?" He irritably spoke out after letting out a long sigh and leaning back against a tree. He crossed his arms against his chest and tilted his head down at the ground exasperatedly while closing his eyes.

"Aw, did someone wake up on the wrong side of the bed?" I teased him while flashing him a faux pout. He slightly opened his eyes at me and raised his eyebrows at me.

"What are you, 2? Stop acting like a child." Kakashi told me before closing his eyes again. I sighed.

"WhAt ArE yOu, TwO?" I mocked him in an idiotic voice before sighing and looking up at the sky, admiring the clouds.

"Saya." I heard Kakashi's voice call out to me, so I lowered my head.

"Hm?" I answered his wordlessly. He was focusing on something on me, but I couldn't tell what.

"What's that?" He asked me, with a raise of one of his eyebrows. He pointed to the base of his neck. I was confused, so I gently put my hand to my neck. I internally panicked as I felt that the high top collar of my shirt was folded down. It dawned on me that Kakashi was seeing the bruise on my neck from.. what my father did to me.
