All seemed quiet and calm within the moonlit reaches of Farendale, when suddenly a dark figure burst through the red-orange leaves on the bushes of the forest. She ran as quickly as her lithe elven legs could carry her, but they were hot on her trail, and, as she emerged from the shrubbery, she found herself standing at the edge of a wide-open grove, moonlight pouring into it, like a river flowing into a lake, and she realized she'd reached a dead end.
Instinctively, she dashed across the grove, shrugging off the shadows and adorning the light that gave away her location. She reached the opposite side where an old, hollowed-out tree stood tall like an ancient giant, silently watching over the grove, just as another figure burst through the trees.
She looked back at the dryad who nocked another arrow in her bow, leveled it, aiming for the fleeing elf and loosed it into the old tree just above her head. She had narrowly dodged the arrow, but the dryad was soon flanked by two others who raised their bows synchronously with the first dryad. Wasting no time, she leapt into the hollowed-out tree, only to be swallowed up by the portal inside.
