Chapter Two

  Attractive men & attitudes

My first day hasn't been the best so far, for starters, I picked a fight with the queen Barbie & now I can't find the main office to grab my schedule. Just great

I didn't notice where I was going until I bumped into a wall. Or so I thought, I looked up & noticed that it was actually a human. Oops

" oh sorry, I didn't .. "
" watch where you're going pipsqueek"

Man the people in this school sure have issues. He lifted his head & my eyes went wide. It was him, my mysterious neighbor
And boy was he hot. Why didn't I notice that before? Maybe because he was an ass Hailey. That's got to be it.

" I said I was sorry. Don't get your parties in a twist big guy. "

I scoffed. He didn't look pleased with what I said
" You. The dancing underwear girl. "
" This girl has a name, asshat "
" Whatever. Just stay out of my way "

He smirked & walked away. Oh how I wish I could wipe that damn smirk off his face. All his good looks have gone out the window. Asshole it is.

The worst part is, I still didn't know where the main office was.
I must have been looking like a lost soul with no purpose because no sooner than a few seconds
A short red head came up to me, tapping my shoulder

" Hi, I'm Alison. I noticed your little fight with the devil and I've got to say, you've got some balls ! No one has ever spoke to her like that. Respect girl, respect. "

Was it really that big of a deal? I looked around and noticed the whispers, all pointed at me.

"  Oh well, someone must have pissed in her fruit loops this morning "
" I'm Hailey. Also known as the new girl "
" C'mon, I'll show you around. "
" I can't find the main office " . I said
" So I'm guessing you don't get along with queen bee around here ? "
Alison scoffed. " Not a chance "
We're going to get along just great.

We headed to the main office.
" Hi Miss Josy. Hailey here, came to collect her schedule. New girl "
Miss Josy smiled & handed it to me, I liked her, I didn't see many friendly faces around here. I looked through my schedule hoping for a free period.

" Hey Alison, is there a dance studio around here ? "
" Oh yeah. You're into dance? She asked. If only she knew.
Dance was a huge part of my life. It was my savior. When everything fell apart, I needed it even more, I forgot all about life as my body moved to the beat of the music. It kept me sane. Lord knows what would have happened if I didn't have it. Dance was my passion.

" Yeah I am. I was hoping to be apart of it this year. "
" You should stop by in your free period & speak to Mrs Reynolds about it. I'm sure she can fit you in. "

We said our goodbyes and I made my way to the first class, I found it in no time and sat down right at the back, not wanting anymore attention on myself. Students started rolling in & I didn't miss the glances I got from most of them. This was my favorite class. English
I'm glad I didn't have to introduce myself in front of the whole class, being the new girl.
20 minutes into class, the door flings open and in walls Mr bad boy - AKA my neighbor.

" Well Mathews, you're awfully early today " Said Mr Grande
" Sorry Sir, won't happen again " he said.
" I trust that it won't. Take a seat Chase "

So that was his name. Chase

Why was everyone looking at him like he's some God? I mean yeah he was good looking but his attitude overpowered that & why didn't he get detention? Isn't that what happens when you're late to class? Precisely 20 minutes late.

He looked around and his eyes landed on me, there was that smirk again. He was heading for the back of the class. Right where I sat. "God please don't let him take a seat next to me"
Just then, I heard the chair next to me being pulled out. Great
I turned back to the front of the class. Not even 5 minutes later, I felt a tap on my leg. I ignored until it happened again. Tap
I sighed & turned to the delinquent

" So new girl. What's your name again ? "
" Now is not the time to act like a civil human being. We're in class. " I rolled my eyes.

" Fine jeez. Talk about uptight "

I didn't bother giving him a response until the bell rang. We both got up & I almost missed the " Catch you later pipsqueek " from his mouth. I sure hope not.

I shared next period with Alison & it's safe to say that she's the only person I could stand in this school.

" What's up chica ? "
" Oh nothing much. Just the jerk known as Chase whoever. What's the deal with him anyway? "

We had time to kill sincing the teacher wasn't even here yet, talk about delayed. Class was supposed to start 10 minutes ago.

" Wait. You mean The Chase Mathews ? You're shitting me! "
" Did he talk to you ? " She asked

" More like pissed me off. Why'd you say his name like that?Why does everyone treat him like some God ?

Just then, the teacher walked in
" settle down class "

" I'll tell you about it at lunch "
" you better, I love a good story "

Classes ended & Alison & I promised to sit together at lunch. She didn't have any other classes with me except for Chemistry at the end of the day. Bummer.

Lunch rolled around pretty fast. I entered the Cafeteria looking for Alison, I found her & headed towards our table, kind of hard to miss her red hair.
There were 2 other people seated when I got there

" This is Hailey, she'll be sitting with us from now on "
They smiled at me & welcomed me into the small yet heart warming group. " I'm Jake, This is Nina. "

He pointed to the blonde girl sitting next to him, she was beautiful.
I always envied girls with blonde hair
I fell on my dad with my brunette locks and green eyes.

" Wait, said Jake. " You're the girl that put the bitch Barbie in her place ? I like you already "
I laughed. " That's me. "
" None of us are fans of her or the minions. " said Nina

" The minions ?" I looked around confused

" Mary & Tina are Katy's minions. They basically follow her around & fall at her feet. They'd do anything she asks "
Sounds interesting. I guess they hate me too then.

I zoned back into the conversation in time to hear them talking about this epic party happening tonight.
Who has a party on the first day of school? And a weekday ?

" You have to come ! said Alison
" Yeah, I think I'll pass " I scrunched my nose just thinking about it. A party with drunk & horny teenagers judging my every move, no thanks.

" C'mon. Please? It's the first party of the year and no one misses Masons parties. They're legendary. "

" Who is Mason anyway? " I thought aloud.
" He & Chase are best friends, speaking of Chase, spill. "
The others looked at me waiting expectantly.
I told them exactly what happened & I couldn't understand the look of shock on their faces when I finished.

" What's the big deal guys ? " I asked
" Chase speaks to no one, that's why girls pine after him. He messes around but makes it clear that's it's just for fun. No commitments. He hasn't had a relationship in God knows how long, so for him to interact with you at all is a huge deal! You're coming to the party. "

& that, Ladies & Gentleman is how I got dragged into a party I didn't even want to go to.
