For Lua who shone brightly in this dark world. I hope that you are in a better place now. May you rest in peace

'I'm sorry Kaycee. I'm so sorry.' Sean sobbed looking at the gravestone. Her gravestone.

Her smile made rainbows

They say that time made it easier. It had already been two years. Two long years without his other better half. Two years without his soulmate. Two years without the love of his life. Two years without her giggles. Two years without her. He didn't know if he could take it anymore.

Their friends tried to help him move on but how could he. It was his fault. He should have seen the signs. He knew that she was having a hard time. He should have been there for her. He should have helped her hurt less. Encouraged her more. Made her believe in herself.

But he didn't. Now the world had one less light. She had shone brighter than all the rest. The brightest light in the sky of a million stars. And now she was gone.

Sometimes , it seemed like he was the only one who cared that she was gone. He couldn't bring himself to watch Friends or The Office. He couldn't dance. Hell he couldn't even drive past Jamba Juice without remembering all their late night smoothie runs after classes. Everything reminded him of her and it hurt so much.

It wasn't fair. Why Kaycee? She was the best of us all. The world is such a cold cruel place. It takes and takes and never once gives back. It takes until we have nothing left.

Sean stood up , brushing the dirt off his pants. He watched as the sun rose painting the sky in beautiful colors.

He turned away from her gravestone ready to face a new day. The pain of losing someone you love? It never goes away. Kaycee wasn't here anymore but he could still make the most of everyday. He could keep her memory alive by living for the both of them. He could help change the world so that one day it would no longer be such a cold and cruel place. He could help make what happened to her the last of it's kind. He could make sure that the world didn't lose another light. Not today. Not ever again.

even though i never knew Lua in real life , she made me happy. when i read her books i felt happy. her books are something else entirely. this world is a harsh place but i hope that we can one day change that so that everyone can feel safe and happy wherever they may be in the world. this story is based off the song One More Light by Linkin Park. it is purely fictional. although we can't see it , it doesn't mean that it isn't there. let's do our best to make sure that we don't lose anymore lights in this world. for those who feel like ending your life is the only choice you have left. don't do it. please don't do it. i promise that things will get better. if you feel that you have no one to talk to , dm me. i'm here for you even when it feels like there is no hope left.
