EVE'S POV
The following morning's warmth urged me to quickly have a cold shower. I hurriedly threw on my clothes. I picked my book bag, tossed my phone, keys and purse into it and took all the shabbily done assignments off my small desk, into my bag.
I literally ran out of my dorm and headed straight to my car. With full speed, I drove to school. Holding unto my shoulder bag, I sprinted to my class. The creaking sound produced by the door, turned everyone's attention to the entrance.
"Miss Rogers, why are you late?" The lecturer, Mr. Scott asked, looking at me through his thick rimmed spectacles. All eyes were still staring at me and it made me extremely uneasy.
Please stop staring at me!
"I'm sorry?" I said pleadingly to the lecturer. I didn't know what he would say considering he was quite strict.
"Sit quick and quietly." He sternly said in his British accent as I made my way to the only available seat in the far back. "So, moving on..." The class continued as I picked my notebook and a blunt pencil and jotted down a few points.
I lost concentration at some point in time. Mr. Scott spoke so much that I lost interest in what he was saying. I sat and fell deep in thoughts. I thought of Nathan. I haven't seen him in just three days and I'm thinking of him already.
"Miss Rogers? Miss Rogers!" I heard someone screaming my name loudly.
But why is my name being screamed?
I snapped out of my thoughts and back to reality. "Sir," Again, every pair of human eyes turn to my direction. I focused only on Mr. Scott and nothing else.
"Are you with us?" He asked and I nodded continuously.
"Yes sir," I responded and sighed knowing what was going to follow.
"What did I just say?" My head ached for a swift second after he spoke.
"I'm here but I'm just not listening. Sorry." I tried to get myself out of the mess I had created.
"Well... what can I say?" The siren rang loudly, indicating the end of the class. "Okay it's time. Good day all." And with that, the lecturer left the room and people started to leave as well.
What is happening to me? I come to class late, can't concentrate and now, I'm left with nothing. I slowly got up and packed my things. On my way out of the room, I remembered I hadn't submitted my assignment. I walked to the lecturer's office and knocked on the door lightly.
After just one knock, he called for me to come in. "Sir, I came to submit my assignment," I took it out of my bag, arranging it and handing it to him.
"You really weren't listening then. I changed the due date. It's Wednesday." I was utterly shocked. My voice was locked up in my throat. All I managed to do was nod. I slowly walked out of his office to the parking lot.
I collapsed into the driver's seat and drove to back to my dorm as I had an hour before my next class. I had to take a quick nap to calm down. All this was too much for me to suck in.

As soon as I lay down on my bed, my phone dinged. It was a text from Emma. I opened it and read it with one eye closed.
"Nathan just texted me, asking for your number so I gave it to him," I read her text unenthusiastically.
Can't it be enough of him already?
I replied saying, "Okay. But how'd he get your number?"
"I guess he's had it since you called me with his phone." Emma texted back quicker than I had expected.
Oh right!
"Yeah... Thanks though," My other eye begun shutting slowly when the quick tone from my phone sounded.
"Anytime." It simply read.
With sleep lingering around, I shut my phone and my eyes. I really didn't want to be disturbed right now. But that wasn't possible as my phone dinged. Again.
