(Author's note- For reference this takes place two weeks before Riser and the Gremory team officially meet just to give an idea on the timing and yes this will be an original event for Reiner and the Sitri team)

Reiner's pov

Three months later

After we handled the Fallen Angel problem I began moving integrating with the others in Sona's group and my lab is going beautifully better find a way of saying thanks to Sona for having it made I however today am with Momo, Tsubasa and Tomoe saying "Tomoe go for the left, Tsubasa overhead and Momo blindside it" you see we were supposed to go capture this basilisk but it's escaped into the sewers which has made my job a lot harder of all the gadgets I've got I neglected to add an anti-sewer system damn I'm an idiot eventually we caught it so I said "hello beautiful" it hissed while the girls restrained it.

An hour later at the Sitri manor

After we got ourselves all cleaned up I got downstairs with the others saying "did we do good" Sona said "you all did great" I nodded till a girl in a childlike voice said "your a funny one Alchemist" I drew my pistol saying "who's there" if this is Ruruko and one of her pranks I swear on my life I'm gonna get her back I looked about till Tsubaki and Momo got dropped off with a few cuts and scrapes I said "give me a second" I held my hand out saying Healing Light a light shone out of my hand so I said "it's no Twilight Healing but it's the best I can do" they got up till the girl appeared before us saying "hello" she waved so I demanded "who are you" I aimed my gun till she said "my name's Miana hi" she giggled Miana herself is a short looking girl with black hair and yellow eyes being dressed in a dark blue kimono with a black butterfly mask in the side of her head how does she know me.

As she sat there Sona prepared an attack till I said "I wouldn't bother" she looked at me as I said "you've set up trap Magic around the house how you did it without us knowing I don't know but one wrong step and who knows how you'll end up" she said "your clever hehehe" I demanded "how do you know me and what's your plan" she spun herself around till she said "I wanna copy you" what is idiot on about I asked "I don't do mentorship on Magic for free you know" Momo asked "what you do mentoring" I said "5¥ an hour" she giggled till Miana said "no with The Gate I wanna open one on this town" oh she did not just do that I yelled "DON'T YOU EVEN DARE DO THAT" I aimed my gun at her forehead saying "how the fuck did you learn about that TELL ME" she imitated a shushing sound till she said "what you did was beautiful art so I want to do it to a town rather than a village" Sona asked "village Gate Reiner what is she on about" I said "something I'd hoped you'd never learn of" Miana then disappeared from sight she's gone good I said "it's safe for now" however I was dragged to the living room.

Once I got dragged to the living room Sona demanded "what on earth was she yapping on about" I took a deep breath then said "girls what I'm about to tell you is something you can't tell another living soul nor a soul in general" they nodded so I said "this is the story I hoped you'd never learn of" they leaned forward as I said "once upon a time I wasn't a traveling alchemist no once upon a time I lived a happy and privileged life I had a family" a tear emerged as I said "I had a little brother and sister Robert and Isabelle in terms of skills Isabelle inherited my Mom's skill for music whereas Robert he didn't have my talent for Magic but he had an insane aptitude for science that was better than my own really but" Sona took my normal hand to comfort me damn I'm looking like a fool I then told them "sadly when he was 8 Robert fell ill and within a few months he died I was able to save the rest of my family myself included but that's when things went down hill" I got a marker pen and drew the Gate I made.

When I drew it I said "in my grief I decided I wouldn't let Robert go" Momo got worried saying "you didn't did you" I nodded as Ruruko asked "wait I'm confused" I told her "you see Ruruko among Magician's tampering with life well that kinda comes with the territory but the one thing we shouldn't do is tamper with death" she came to that realisation as I said "in my grief combined with my hubris and rage I tried to bring him back to life" they all gasped while I cried more and more saying "first I made a body using standard chemicals found within the body mixed with a portion of his hair I got from a brush in his room then I tried to open a gate to Purgatory by drawing a Magic circle" Sona told me "that's impossible though no mortal should be capable of that" I nodded saying "it can be done by a mortal but I learned the hard way that no mortal should do it to begin with since the experiment went haywire rather then resurrect my brother I made a corpse that had his traits then" Ruruko got me a tissue.

Once she got me a tissue I said "the Gate went out of control ripped the souls out of my entire family, the family servants and the neighboring village" Tsubasa asked "how did you survive though" I replied with "the theory I formed was that it's because I was at the centre kinda like a hurricane and the eye of the storm idea but really I wouldn't call this survival" I held my prosthetic arm up which they instantly got the meaning off I told them "the energy feedback that I created when I messed up the circle was so powerful that it blew my arm off" I then told Sona "that's why I wanted to learn Devil Magic from you and Lady Gremory I needed to learn it from a High-class Devil someone who'd be a master at it" Tsubaki asked me "for what purpose though" I told her "because those souls are still trapped within Purgatory with no way out neither going to Heaven or Hell so my plan is to breach Purgatory then set them free to give them their final rest" Sona for once looked well the only way I can put it is sad that's the only way I can describe her expression normally she's quite a serious person so that's a first.

Once I told them my tale Momo said "so this Miana kid she wants to do what you did to the town" I nodded then said "if she does ever soul regardless of age, race, gender, colour, species or sexual orientation will be torn out of their bodies and trapped within Purgatory with no way out" she gasped saying "that's horrible" I held my head down saying "now you know" I went around the sofa saying "but I have a plan to find her" I snapped my fingers to open a portal saying Spur out come four mechanical bat like drones as I said "these things will find her" Ruruko asked "how" I after getting them turned on said "they use gravity stones to fly so I'll have them go about town then reconfigure them to track the Gates particular Magic signature at which stage it'll let me know where to go" Momo blushed saying "your brilliant you know that" I smirked saying "no need to tell me twice" I then opened the window saying "off you go" they flew out while I got my coat ready.

Over to Sona's pov

After Reiner sent his devices out to go hunting I sat in my chair with a small tear emerging why am I crying I don't cry that's normally for Rias to do she's the more emotional one I saw Reiner though working his literal Magic but after hearing his story I can't help but feel sadness knowing he's survived all that and that all this time he's been on his own without anyone to truly connect with him and Momo started working on something he's been through hell and yet he makes himself carry a happy expression on his face he tries to smile even though he wants to break down and cry I left to go make myself a drink why do I feel so bad for him he's a complete idiot who enjoys danger way too much come to think of it why am I getting attached to him in general I don't usually do that I looked at myself saying "why does my heart feel like it's about to explode" Reiner himself though came in without his prosthetic arm.

When he came in he said "ah M'lady I was" I held my hand up saying "Reiner I'm flattered by that name but please call me Sona" what the hell am I doing I barely know this man yet I'm letting him call me that then again I feel so at ease around him he said "alright Sona I was wondering if I could ask you something" I looked at him as he said "I might have overheated my prosthetic arm a little so I was wondering if you could cool it down with your Magic" I tilted my head saying "so you want me to use my family's power one that has existed since the begining of my lineage to cool a metal arm down" he nodded in an almost cartoonish way so I said "hold still" I let a small torrent of water cover it making steam rise up till a small portion spilt onto his shirt exposing his well built chest oh my Mao they're so powerfully built he looked at me saying "are you ok" I simply nodded then got to work.
