During our lunch break, we go to Harper's Food Truck for cheeseburgers.  We both know that if we go home for lunch, we won't be coming back to school.

We sit down at the park to eat, and Marinette walks over to us.  "Hey, guys," she says, "Do you mind if I sit here?"

I nod, and she sits next to me.  "Marinette, right?" I say, smiling.

"Yeah," she says, "But you can call me Mari, if you'd like."

My smile becomes bigger.  "Okay, Mari," I say.

After we eat lunch, the three of us walk back to the school together.  I walk into the classroom and take my seat in the back, fidgeting with my pendant.

...

We walk to our house after school, and Nathalie rushes out the door as we approach.  I'm expecting her to say that my father wasn't happy, but she gives me a hug.

"Hey, guys, don't tell your father I said this, but I'm proud.  How did you manage to sneak out, anyway?" she says.

"I just kinda jumped out the window," I say.  The three of us walk in together.

...

"Mirall, thank you," I say as I sit on my bed, "You've been a big help,"

She flies around and lands on my lap.  "Hey, (Y/N), can I please have some chocolate?" she says.  "I'll need it to get my energy back."

I search through my desk and find a Coco chocolate bar.  I hand it to Mirall, who immediately opens it and devours it.  I pick up my guitar and begin strumming it.

"What are you doing?" she says, her mouth full of chocolate.

"Well, Mirall, I wanna be a musician someday.  This is how I start writing my songs," I tell her.  "I do this for inspiration."

"A musician?  Aren't you, like, a famous model or something?" she says, tilting her head.

"Yeah, but it's super boring," I say.  I hear a knock on the door.  "Hide, Mirall!" I whisper.  She dashed behind a pillow just as Father enters the room.

"How dare you leave this house without permission," says Father.

"Come on, Father, seriously?  I've had my sights set on going to school since I was a toddler," I whine, crossing my arms.

"You won't be going to school again," he says.  My eyes start to water.  "That is, you won't go without Nathalie and your bodyguard.  Each day, they'll drop you off and pick you up," he finishes.

I smile.  "Thank you, Father," I say.  He nods and leaves.

I count to ten.  "Mirall, come out," I say.  She pops out from behind the pillow.

"Good for you, kid," she says, "You get to go to school."

"Yeah.  Although that's not really enough," I say.

     "What do you mean?"
"I'm going to ask Father if I can stop modeling and start doing things related to music."
"You're crazy, (Y/N)."
"I know."

With that, I open the door and walk to the dining room.
