Will's pov
~~~~~~~~
The sun had barely come up when I opened my eyes. The morning light crept under the curtains in Nicos room. Wait Nico's room? Oh my gods. I slept in the chair in Nico's room. I quietly got up and snuck out of the room before any of my siblings got back to the infirmary. Just as I entered the main room, the door swung open.
"Hey Will!" Jason Grace called from the door.
"We're here to see Nico" Percy walked in joining Jason.
"Oh! uh he's still asleep" I said awkwardly.
"That's fine, we'll wait" Percy smiled and pulled out a chair. "Actually we had some questions for you" Percy smiled. But it kind of looked like an evil grin. I felt a jolt of panic. What would they want to talk to me about?
"We've noticed that you seem to care a lot about Nico." Jason stated very matter-of-factly. Jason smiled and walked towards me. "Take a seat"
"Y-yeah I care about him" I stuttered as I backed into a chair and sat. "He needs rest. He needs a friend."
"Friend you say?" Asked Percy scooting his chair closer.
"Um, ya?"
"Just friends?" Jason questioned leaning on the back of my chair.
"What do you mean?" They couldn't possibly know that I think he's cute? Or funny. Or amazing. I felt my cheeks heat up.
"You like him don't you!" Percy practically jumped out of the chair.
"SHH! you'll wake Nico!" I scolded him and Jason who could barely contain their excitement. "Maybe..." I said quietly.
"I knew it!" Jason said excitedly. My cheeks started to burn at my confession.
"Well.. um bye" I said quickly standing up and turning to leave.
Jason laughed and grabbed my arm. "Oh no you don't" he said plopping me back into the chair.
"You should tell him!" Percy suggested. "Or take him somewhere for a nice dinner! Under water! I could make you a bubble and serenade the two of you, singing under the s-"
Jason cut Percy off "I don't think that's their thing, sorry Percy. You should write a poem! You know son of Apollo and all"
"I'm terrible at poems, I'm just a medic" I sighed. "And I don't think Nico is a poem kinda guy"
"Awe come one write a poem. Just for fun, you don't have to give it to him!" Jason persisted. He picked up a pad of paper and a pen from a side table and handed it to me. I thought about it for a moment.
"Fine." I said reluctantly.
Anything to get out of this awkward conversation. And what's the harm? Nico will never know. Some of my siblings are amazing poets. Not me. I'm just a medic. My poetry skills are a -47 out of 10.
"How do I start?" I sad staring at the blank paper in front of me.
"Start with the classic, roses are red" Percy said. Well I guess I can't be worse than them at poetry if that's his suggestion. So I went with it.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Hey Death Boy
I like you
"Perfect! but add a little more" Jason suggested from over my shoulder. "Something... Something he will remember." I looked back at the paper. Then I scribbled the first thing that came to mind.
P.s. cute butt.
Love, Will
Percy snatched the paper from me and read it over. He grinned
"Not bad! I've met your father. And I've got to say you're poetry skills are about equal"
I chuckled, the horn sounded for breakfast and Percy handed me back the poem.
"Thanks man, I'm going to go grab some food to bring back for Nico. Coming?" I asked both of them. They nodded and headed towards the door. I placed the note on the table and headed to the dining pavilion.
