Chapter 2; Land Wishes

After a day of sitting in this bubble a raise it from the water and land it gently on a rock, I let the water fall. I look around and see nothing but ocean, I frowned. Jumble sat beside me on the rock, my stomach growled loudly. I looked down in the water, "stay here, Jumble." I sighed and dived into the water, I took a deep breath taking the water into my lungs. I blow all the pure air from my lungs, I start swimming down. Markings appeared on my skin glowing to give me some light, I pluck some kelp. I see a crab going into a hole, I smile. I direct water to form a current to shoot him out of the hole, my hand grabs the crab. I quickly kill it, I start swimming up. When my body breaks the surface, Jumble was sitting on the edge of the rock waiting for me. I toss the "food" up on the rock, before sitting on it myself. I spit water out clearing my lungs, rip the crab open. I start eating the inside of it; tossing the inedible bits into the ocean. I inspected the kelp and clean it to my best ability.

I decide to sleep under the water in a bubble, I laid on the wet, mud like sand. I stared up into the dark ocean above me, I knew that my magic was running low and that soon I wouldn't be able to see or keep this bubble up for long. I'm sighed, the eire quiet of the ocean was haunting. "How does anyone sleep like this..." my marks started to flicker out, I watched the bubble crash down on me. I didn't even flinch, I just stared into the inky black ocean. "Lucky new-bloods, they just have the marks without using in magic." I mumbles to myself before dozing off.

I wake up and quickly start to move to the east once again. I sat on a wave so I could feel the wind, go past me. Jumble sat in the palm of my hand, safely.

After hours and hours of riding the wave I see land, a smile spreads across my face. I stared at the greenery, I let the wave slow down as it approached. My feet gently touched down on the grass, I felt so much happiness wash over me. It was the late afternoon and the sun will soon disappear, Jumble flew around my head and up into the air. I small laugh left my lungs, I began to walk inland. Every step bring me more energy and excitement, soon the walk turned in a run.

I ran until my legs shook from exhaustion, I stopped in a near by forest. I sit down on a log, my feet bled, from nothing to protect them from the rough ground. I ignored the stinging sensation and leaned on a tree that sat behind me. My lose shirt and pants sat a dirty and tattered mess, I looked at my arms. They'd turn red, my eyes widen. "W-what is this!? Is this because I've been above the water for too long!?" It stung.
"Hello!? Is someone there!?" I heard a voice call out, I panicked and stood only to collapse from the over abuse on my muscle from running for hours. "Oh dear!" I look up, an old woman came over to me. "Are you okay, Miss?" She lifted me slowly. "You are all sunburnt, and your feet are bleeding!" She said sitting me down.

The woman took me to her village and home, claiming that she'd take care of me. Since I need somewhere to live I allowed her, Jumble following the whole time. She had me in a small room that she said was her son's. I was grateful to the woman.

As she cleaned and bandaged my feet she asked me a question, "where are you from, sweetheart?" She said gently. 'S-should I lie...? I better incase there's something I don't know about.
"I-I don't remember..." I mutter quietly.
"Oh, do you remember your name?" She asked cutting the bandage.
"Oh... my name... I think it was (Y-Y/N), yeah that sounds right." I said nodding pretending to remember.
"What a beautiful name, everyone in town calls me Grand mother or Nana. You are welcome to too." She smiles, "now I'll go get an herb to sooth your burnt skin." She stood and walked out of the room.
"I don't think I want to leave here... these people are so kind... I guess she is at least."

I spent days there and quickly realized how nice and expecting they were... when my own people didn't expect me in their own culture. I can't let them know what I am or what I did in my past life... no one will know.
