Jeongguk sat in the small cramped practice room, fingers pulling at the strings of his black wooden guitar.
His eyes focused on the paper infront of him, little scribbles of letters forming to words messily smeared across, some crossed through with lines of obvious unsatisfation.
Little hums resounded from his sealed lips, intertwining with the clinks of his guitar, forming a little peaceful melody dripping with a honey sweetened calmness.
School had been stressful already as it was his first complete day, start at 8am to finish at 2:30pm, packed with classes he didn't want to have. He really thought he made the right choices interms of picking his final year's subjects but turns out it always looks much easier on paper than it is in real life.
The classes he thought would be pretty chill turned out to be much more work than he thought they would be -- and that's only judging from only one full school day so far.
But maybe it only was from how little he slept last night with tears still occasionally running down his cheeks, with his stuffy nose that he couldn't properly breathe with and the constant headache buzzing through his skull.
And if he was asleep, his mind spiralled into nightmares and those only, dreams about Taehyung leaving earlier, him never coming back, him breaking off contact. It just really hit Jeongguk harder than he thought it did -- and he thought it destroyed him already.
He actually felt relieved when he finally saw the sun come rising from the line of the sky and ground, shining into his face and actually being the first one up for breakfast that morning which least to say confused the crap out of his whole family.
And as Gguk found out, he did have some classes together with Taehyung who picked up his schedule with him a day late.
But being honest, it was rather exhausting instead of amazing as he usually had thought it was. It was hard to keep himself contained for now, pretend like everything was okay and it was just all butterflies and rainbows when it was the opposite.
Especially during lunch when he just dragged himself behind the slightly older male to the rather popular table, where he clearly didn't belong, sitting inbetween Taehyung and some jock from the swim team that had called him a shadow mulitple times.
Pretending that he was totally fine when he was more than uncomfortable and just wanted to flee the earth that very second but, well -- everything to spend time with his best friend, right?
