"What?" Thomas yelped, jumping back and almost falling off the couch.
"I said..." Roman started as the others covered their ears. "YOU'VE GOT SOME EXPLAINING TO DO THOMAS!!"
"Explain what?" Thomas asked, looking a little flustered by the disturbance.
"Explain why Virgil is an emo mess!" Roman said.
"Because... He's Virgil?... " Thomas suggested, confused.
"Kiddo, he means why he's been more upset than usual... " Patton explained.
"I dunno. Why y'asking me?" Thomas asked.
"Thomas, I am not even going to begin on the grammatical errors in that sentence and simply explain. We are asking you about the reason for Virgil's mental state because he had a severe panic attack when he returned to the mind palace after speaking with you alone."
A look of concern and realization spread across Thomas's face. "I didn't know how much that affected him... "
"Kiddo, what happened?"
"He told me a secret... I'm sorry I don't know if he's told you guys and I really don't wanna, like, expose him if he doesn't know..." Thomas said.
"Oh, that's ok kiddo. We understand you don't wanna do that to him."
----(the next week)----
The video had just been published and Virgil was dreading it. What were people going to say about him now? What if they don't like him anymore? "Hey kiddo, we're gonna go watch the new video if you wanna come join." Patton's voice from the door broke him from his thoughts. "Yeah... I'm coming."
Honestly he didn't really want to but he knew if he just stayed in his room all he'd be able to think about is the video anyway. After about 37 minutes came the part Virgil was dreading the most. (And yes I checked his confession is at just before 37 minutes)
"Yeah but I should know better" The Virgil on the screen said
"Isn't that kind of unfair? Why should you be held to a different standard than any other side?" Onscreen Thomas asked
"Because I was one of them..." You could see the tears in Virgil's eyes as he sank down on the screen.
And Patton understood why it affected Virgil so much. Thomas was shocked when he looked at him but in Virgil's frame of mind that look could've meant so much worse... He pulled Virgil into a hug and whispered "I understand". Virgil breathed a sigh of relief knowing that someone understood him.
Roman and Logan were soon at his side as well and joined the hug. " It's ok, Virge" Roman whispered.
"We accept you, no matter what" Logan said
"We love you kiddo"
Virgil smiled, happy to be surrounded by his family.
