Sarah was panicking. Adri was in demon form, passed out on the floor, and even before she was deadweight, demons are heavy. Sarah tried to wake her up, but nothing worked. Then there was a knock on the door.

"Who's there?" Sarah called.
"Hotel management. Theres an Eric Stratsky looking for an Adri Lourah and Sarah Lee." The man's voice was muffled behind the door.
"Listen, if you open the door you'll stay free, but just..." the door was kicked down by a big, Russian mans boot. Sarah screamed.

"Demon cloaking, eh? Smart move Adri, very clever indeed." Stratsky grabbed Sarah by the arm and threw her to his men. And they carried her away. Then he chained the sleeping demon in iron and lifted her over his shoulder.

"Otvedi devushku na koyku. Togda vstretite menya v shkafchike." The remaining men nodded.

"What about the manager?" One asked.
"Kill him. Leave no loose ends."

The sound of a silenced pistol was all that was heard after the pleading screams.

Adri came to in pain. The burning at her wrists, waist, and ankles was relentless. She opened her eyes to see it was dark. She lit the torches along the walls. A very smug Russian was smiling at her from a chair in front of her.

"Glad to see you awake. I didnt think you would for another few days." He tapped his fingers together in front of him like a villain from a Disney movie.

"Where is the girl, Eric?" Adri was angry, and she said the words in a cold and dark tone.

"She's safe, and at home with her mother. Where she belongs." Eric paused to revel in his achievement of capturing the demon.
"While I admire the improvements you made to get away from me, it seems the one thing that always gets you is a beat skipped in that cold hellheart of yours. You're in love with the girl, aren't you?" He spat the last two words as if he was jealous.

"Perhaps I can have with her what we never had, Stratsky." Adri meant to hit a nerve, and it worked.

Eric winced as the last words slipped from her lips. The venom of hatred subsided and emotion showed on his face. Pain, mostly. It quickly went away and was replaced with anger.

"You think you can taunt me with your words? What we had was simply not meant to be!" He shouted

"Is that why you let The Preist whisper those lies into your heart? Is that why you left me to die instead of killing me yourself because I know in your cold dead heart you still love me!" Adri shouted back.

Eric stomped over and grabbed Adri by her shoulder and pulled her close, causing the chains to dig deeper into her wrists and ribs. She winced. They looked each other in the eye and stared with intensity. Her deep, red and black eyes bore into his deep blue and green eyes. But there was no emotion in either of them. No thoughts in their heads. But something made him let go.

"Your cursed feelings for me should have died along with mine for you." He growled.

"Who's to say they didn't?"

"I feel the constant pull at my heart from you, begging me to come back and begging me to stop hurting you. And yet here you are. I'm in your presence, but I still feel your pull. Why?"

"It's not my strings attached to you, My Dear."

"Then whose?"

There was a long pause. The deeper the question sank into Adri the more she knew the answer.
