Chapter 1. You Decapitated My Stuffed Animal?!

I opened the fifth door to my fifth locker at my fifth high school I've ever been to. And I'm still in the second-last year of secondary school. Who knows what the stars predicted for me.

I may have lived with the Scott family for a little more than a years now. But they made me change schools twice for different reasons. One time it was because I was too much trouble. Another time because they bullied me until I ran home crying.

This is the first day at my new school. And the first I did when at a new school was opening my locker and placing my special teddy bear lion in it so I can look at it every day. It's the only tangible thing I have from my mom.

It's been a week since I last talked to my mom. Getting in touch with her when it's not a full moon nights is really hard. But I'm glad I found out how to talk to her through the other dimension about 5 years ago or I wouldn't be the same as I am today.

I miss my real mom as soon as I leave the alter dimension where I can talk to her. So do I with my dad. In there, we are a close family yet never really together. My mom and dad cannot be together in there at the same time. Unless we experience another eclipse like the one I was made from. But as soon as I return to what people call reality I have a loving family waiting for me to wake up from my little nap. Both worlds are reality to me but one more than the other.

"Ah, what's this?" The last year student that's supposed to show me around in this new school walks into my personal space and looks over my shoulder. He was reaching for my teddy bear-lion. I tried to close my locker before he could lay his hands on it but I was too late. He had already taken it away from me. After taking a few steps back he inspected my stuffed animal like it was a treasure to him.

" Can you please give it back?" I asked him politely. I would try to be as nice as I can be but if he was going to be a prick I would kick his sorry little ass. He hid it behind his back and leaned a little forward. "And why would I?"

I mimicked his movements, leaning forward and grinning mischievously. "Because I know I can kick your ass." He started testing me. He came closer to me, too close if you ask me. I stumbled back until my back hit the closed door of my locker, his one free hand entrapping me right then and there. "Are you sure?"

"Danny, who's your new little toy?" I cocked my head to the side where the new voice came from. A guy dressed in black jeans with a white T-shirt and a jacket from the school's sports team swung over his shoulder started approaching us. "Well, isn't that romantic, already giving her a teddy..." He snatched my stuff animal from Danny's hand. "Bear lion?"

He laughed at us and it seemed to upset Danny. And I found that rather amusing, but I still wanted my stuff back. I elbowed Danny in the ribs and he stumbled away from me, coughing. I walked up to the other guy. Somewhere close behind me Danny spoke up. "No, it's hers and somehow it's very dear to her."

He looked at Danny. "Is that so? Well, in that case. I'm keeping it." He grinned at me and started to walk away. "For now." I pleaded him to give it back but he wouldn't give in a bit. As soon as he rounded the corner and he was out of sight for me I ran after him. At the corner, I stopped and searched the hallway for any sight of him but he was gone.

Slowly I walked further into the dark hallway and looked through every window to see where he went. At the door of the janitor's closet I found a light bulb illuminating the small area around it. The stood next to a shelf with one foot and his upper body leaning against the wall. When I opened the door he glanced at me with pride.

"Where is it?" He cocked his head to the shelf just above his head. There sat my teddy bear lion. I tried to reach but it was too far. With my average length I wasn't able to get my stuffy from the shelf but he was almost a head taller than me so I wasn't surprised he was able to place it there. I sighed. How am I ever going to get it back?
