Chapter 3: Its been a week Part 2

Anna's POV

I followed Kier out the door of the club nodding to Mike, the bouncer on the door. Kier stopped at the corner beneath a street lamp and leaned on it, waiting for my shorter legs to catch up. We stood looking at each other awkwardly for what felt like an age before both opening our mouths to speak at the same time.

"Anna---"

"Kier, look---"

I blushed and looked at the ground waiting for him to continue. "Anna, love, look I don't know what you thought was going to happen after that time we met, but it was just a harmless flirtation a silly but of fun. I'm sorry but that text I sent you was just a drunken accident, I have a girlfriend and we've been together a long time I love her and I can't ruin that I'm so so sorry but nothing can happen between us. Ever." He told me not looking me in the eye. I just stood frozen and shocked, I couldn't believe it. "W-wwhat? You've got a-- what?!" I stuttered, "You didn't think to mention this to me? You could have at least texted me. Wait why did Laurence say you were going to text me? Why didn't he tell me you had a girlfriend? God I'm such an idiot something like this would happen to me wouldn't it." He stepped forward as if to put his hand on my arm, "No don't touch me you jerk I'm done have a nice night with your girlfriend." I sneered at him turning swiftly on my heel and walking back into the club. Tears were streaming down my face but I didn't want anyone to see me like this, so before getting back to work I quickly ducked into the ladies bathroom to clean my face. Taking a deep breath I looked into the mirror to check if my eyes were red or puffy, and satisfied that they weren't I ventured out of the toilets and made my way back to the bar. Kier had disappeared, a fact for which I was extremely grateful however Laurence and Esk were hovering by the bar looking around anxiously most likely waiting for me or Kier to appear. I sighed and decided to just get it over and done with as quickly as possible. The second Esk saw me she grabbed Laurence's arm forcing him to turn round and see me too, they both rushed towards me and started asking me questions each overlapping the other. What happened? Are you okay? Where's Kier? What was wrong? Why did you disappear? I just held a hand up to shut them both up and said "I'm fine seriously both of you can stop worrying, Kier just had to explain some things to me it's all okay now." I hoped that would be enough explanation for them because honestly I was seconds away from bursting into tears all over again. They were both quiet for a few moments as I held my breath and hoped they'd leave it, they did. "Okay well as long as you're sure babe can I get another drink now?" Esk winked at me, I laughed glad to be back to normalcy for once. "Yeah of course the usual?" She nodded. "Laurence what do you fancy?" I asked turning to look at him, he just shook his head and told us both he'd be back soon, he had to go find Kier. I turned as if to go down the bar and start cleaning glasses but she leant across the bar and grabbed my arm before I could leave. "Tell me. Now." She demanded I just shook my head and told her "Later Esk, I'm not in the mood right now. I'll tell you tomorrow morning, okay? I just wanna get through tonight." She looked at me for a long minute before releasing my arm and going to find Laurence. At the end of my shift I grabbed my things and decided to dash into the loos really quickly, as I was washing my hands I heard my phone beep in my bag, pulling it out I unlocked the screen without looking at who the message was from just assuming it was Esk telling me to hurry my ass up cos she was cold. Looking down at my phone, I dropped it and backed away from it in terror. Oh no! He's going to find me again.
