Backstage ➳ Madnessa

Vanessas POV

Mads and I have finally finished packing for her. She leaves in a few hours for Vancouver and I can tell she's terrified to go by herself so I bought a ticket to Vancouver yesterday, my flight leaves 15 minutes after hers, that means that I can get there and surprise her. 

I head down the hall and into the living room where Madelaine is watching a movie. I jump over the back of the couch and lay down against Madelaine. She starts playing with my hair as she continues to watch the movie.

"We have to leave soon" I say sounding upset. She stops playing with my hair and drops her hands to her sides.

"Yeah, I know, I'm gonna miss you so much" She says sounding disappointed.

"I'm going to miss you so much too but you'll see me before you know it" I say, grabbing her hand. 

"I know, it just seems like it will take forever" Madelaine says upset. 

"I know, how about you go take a shower, it'll help with your anxiety and then when you come back I will have made some food and we can sit and watch a movie before you have to leave" I say as I sit up so Mads can get off the couch.

"Okay" She says quietly and gets up. I watch as she walks off and shake my head as I fall back on to the couch. 

I hate that she wants this so much but has so much anxiety about it. I wish I could live in Vancouver with her but my life is here in LA.

Mads comes out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel, she was holding one of my shirts and a pair of my pants.

"Nessa, can I borrow these? all my clean clothes are in my suitcases" She asks. 

"Of course" I say nodding.

"Thank you" She says coming over and hugging me, "I will return them" 

"Don't bother, they're old and I don't wear them anyway" I say shrugging.

"Um I see you wearing these pants all the time" She says looking at me sceptically.

"Okay fine so I just don't care, you can keep them" I say taking the food I just prepared over to the living room. Mads thanks me again and goes to get changed.

Once the movie finished I lifted Madelaine off of me carefully and got up to turn the television off and clean up around the living room before going back over to wake up Madelaine.

"Mads, wake up we have to go soon" I say shaking her gently. She wakes up a little bit and then rolls over and goes back to sleep.

"If you don't get up now then I will make you" I say, I got no response so I bent down and started tickling her. She finally woke up and got her things together.

I got my car keys and she got her suitcases and we headed out of the house. I put her suitcases in the back seat and we both got in the front. 

I started driving and I noticed that the whole drive Mads didn't really say a word. 

Once we reached the airport I got her suitcases for her and walked her into the airport. We reached her gate and her flight got called indicating she had to leave soon. She hugged me tight and I hugged her back, when we pulled away I noticed she was crying.

"Permission to not be best friends for a minute?" I ask. She nods and we both lean in to kiss each other. I pull away and wipe her tears, she hugs me again and tells me she doesn't want to leave. 

"You have to leave, this is what you have been waiting for your entire life" I say holding her hand. She nods and looks down crying even more. 

"Hey, it'll be okay, I love you" I say. 

"I love you more" She says as she gets told by a lady that she has to board now or she wont get on the plane so she leans in and kisses me once more. 

I hug her tightly once more and then let her get on the plane. 

"FaceTime me everyday!" I shout as she walks onto the plane. She looks back and smiles at me.

"I love you" She mouths. I smile and watch her walk away and find her seat.

I realise that my flight leaves in about ten minutes so I run through LAX and out to my car to get my suitcase and plane ticket. I get through customs and go to my gate, I wait for five minutes and then finally get to board my plane.

Madelaine still has no idea that I'm going to Vancouver with her and I cant wait to see her face when I rock up to her apartment and surprise her. 

I find my seat and soon after the plane takes off, it's official, I'm going to Vancouver.
