Chapter 2

{Camila pov}

oh my its monday. Means first day of school, going back to dressing up and stuff. “camila time for school!” i hear my dad yell. i get up and head to my drawers to look for some clothes, i grab a shirt and some jeans and put on my vans. i head downstairs and see my brother watching tv in his boxers “Anthony go get dressed you have school” i tell him “ugh mila shut up” i roll my eyes and head to the kitchen “morning honey” says my dad “morning” i say back and grab some toast and put peanut butter and jelly on it. i grab some milk and then sit at the table. i was eating in silence looking through my phone and then i get a text from my best friend

Dinah :P

Do you want a ride to school?

i put my phone down and look up and see my dad looking at me “your mom called today” he says out of nowhere “what did she need?” i ask “ she said shes coming down here for a few weeks” i nod my head and finish my breakfast “is she gonna sleep here or somewhere else?” i ask “i'm not really sure but she's your mother camila, please be nice” he says with sternness in his voice. i roll my eyes and hear my phone “fine ill try but i have to go bye” i say as i kiss his cheek bye. i run out and see dinahs moms car; i get inside and buckle up “hey mila” says dinah “hey” i say back. the whole ride i just think about what my dad told me. my mother is coming down here, i have no idea if i should be happy or not. i mean shes my mother, i should get happy right? “Camila” i hear my name and turn to look at dinah that is smiling at me “were here” she says i nod my head and say bye to dinahs mom and step out the car. “so are you going to tell me what made you zone out. i look at here, i mean i can't lie to her, we've been best friends since we were in diapers “mymomiscomingdownhere” i say pretty fast “mila how many times have i told you don't talk with your mouth full” she says, i just laugh at her “what's so funny?” she asks, i shake my head “nothing its just that my mom is coming down” i tell her “ohhh are you happy?” she asks as we walk to the picnic table, i shrug my shoulders “its whatever” i say. she nods her head and just looks around. i turn to look for my other friends Ally and Normani.

 

{Lauren pov}

“hey new kid” i hear some girl say. i look up too see who it was and it was some brunette. “uh hey” i say back “mind if i sit here with you?” she asks i just shrug my shoulders and move my bag so she can sit “so where you from?” she asks me “i'm from gastonia but moved down here a few months ago” i tell her “where is gastonia at?” she asks me with her eyebrows raised in confusion “near charlotte” i tell her she nods her head and then screams to some guy “hey Tony!” i see some red head kid head over to the  table “hey Destiny” so thats her name. “Meet…” she turns to look at me “what's your name?” she asks “ Lauren” i tell her “ Meet Lauren” she says back to tony. “sup” he says, i just sit there and smile at him. we hear the bell ring and then we all head inside. Destiny and i have the same class. i sit all the way in the back and destiny sits next to me. All the other people start heading in the class. i see the teacher sitting at her desk so i just lay my head on the desk. i hear the bell ring once again, “ok students welcome to class. My name is Ms. Coats and well ill be your teacher this year, so lets get started” she turns to her computer and pulls something up on the board; she grabs a stack of papers and starts handing them out “so i know you guys do this at the beginning of every year but its the easiest way to get to know each other” i just sit there and look around, theres all kinds of kids in this class. The teacher got done handing out the papers and went back up to the front of the class, “ ok so now yall have to go around and…” i blocked her out, it was way to early to be listening to someone talk. i feel someone elbowing me so i look up it was destiny trying to get my attention “here put your name on one of these.” i put my name under that i have brothers or sisters.

*end of school*

well today wasn't that bad, this school is actually good. “Lauren” i hear my name being called and see destiny running up to me. “hey?” i say she smiles and gives me a piece of paper “heres my number so we can talk and hang out whenever” i smile and see her walk away. yep i can sure get used to this school.

 

my mom picked me up and we were on our way to the store to see what we were going to buy so we could eat. “so laur...how was school?” she asks me while looking at me through the rearview mirror. “ it was alright i made a friend her name is Destiny and well we didn't do much at school since it was the first day.” i see her smile which makes me smile, i love my mom and my stupid dad left cause he thought that he didn't love her anymore. i mean who wouldn't love my mother? she was beautiful and young, he was just a jackass for leaving, she had the prettiest smile and had brown eyes. mine were greenish because of my dad but i wish i had brown eyes, like my mom. i mean she can be a pain sometimes but i love her no matter what. “Laur your dad called me today…”  i look outside and see thats she parked the car already “oh what did he want?” i ask, yes i hate my dad for leaving us, yes i hate him for leaving my mom with 3 kids to take care of. i came back to my senses when i heard my mom speak “ he said that he wants to come see you and your sisters.” i just sit there and look at her “look laur i know that you don't like him v-” i cut her off mid sentence “correction mom i hate him and i know you say that hate is a strong word but thats what i feel hate. he left for no reason he walked out like if we were nothing and well he didn't care and i shouldn't care how hurt he is or something. He left you mom with the responsibility that both of yall had to carry together and he just found out the easiest exit possible.” by the time i finish talking i had tears in my eyes and so did my mom, i hate my dad but love him at the same time, yes i have thought if he really did love us he wouldn't have left but he did which meant he didn't care at all. “fine laur you don't have to see him if you don't want to but your sisters do.” i just nod my head and unbuckle myself “come on ma lets go get something so we can eat.” she nods her head and we get out the car and head inside.

we bought food and headed home.
