“I love you” she spoke to me, with tears streaming down her face. “No. You can’t” I argued, ignoring the pain rising in my chest. “You shouldn't love someone who doesn’t love you back” I whispered, and at that moment, the shattering of my heart was so loud, I was sure she had heard. "You don't mean it. Tell me you’re lying," she spoke as if it was the hardest thing in the world. The tears streaming down her pale pink cheeks increased as I spoke the next four words. "I wish I was..." I murmured. My voice was low and dark, a tone I had never used before. She slowly turned away, I watched as the bright colors in her eyes washed away with the tears. “I-I’m sorry…” I stuttered to her, now knowing the pain she had been feeling, the difficulty she had had, to speak, to look, to live, right here, right now, at this moment.
