BIRTHDAY & MASQUERADEprince jeno doesn't think his birthday is a failure.
yet that is.
the masquerade they'd thrown for him for his birthday wasn't a failure yet-there was good entertainment, good guests (both his friends and people his family wanted him to meet), and good music and food.
but something felt like it was missing-and he couldn't put his finger on it at first. he didn't feel as happy as he typically should-especially considering his situation-but in short he felt a little lonely.
a lot, in fact.
so as he sat on his throne beside his mother and father, amidst entertaining dancers and performers and gifts from friends and allies, he pouts as he watches happy couples together, dancing in sync with swaying hips, but then his eyes fall onto a boy, stood to the side of the floor near him.
he's small, almost fairy-like with his small frame, from the tip of his dainty nose to the skinny build of his ankles, which jeno can only just see, and he can see the sparkle in his eyes from he chandeliers.
he's so cute, with small bits of glitter and sparkles and butterflies in his shoulder length, wavy, chocolate brown hair, with matching butterflies adorning his lilac suit, so pale it's almost white.
he's beautiful.
he thinks to himself, and before he knows it, his almost unnerving gaze is returned. a small smile is cast his way, before the boy is whisked away by a slightly taller boy, dusty blond hair staying prominent in jeno's mind.
almost.
