A/N: oof. The transitions in this chapter are Rough (a.k.a. they suck), so be aware. :0
Kacy was in her third period when she received her first text from Cody.
Cody: What are you doing for lunch?
Kacy: Just going off with friends.
Kacy watched her phone and grinned widely while waiting for his reply.
"Stop smiling like that."
She turned her head to the left to see that Hayden sat there with a ridiculous smirk on his face.
"Why?" Kacy asked thinking of his remark for a moment.
"Because it's creeping me out, why don't you go back to taking your notes." He suggested nodding his head towards the screen at the front of the room.
Kacy cocked her head to the side as her jaw dropped, astounded that he could be so rude to someone that was obviously having a good day.
"What? Cat got your tongue."
She looked at his growing smile before coming up with a remark of her own, "Dud you don't need to be such an asshole."
Hayden placed one of his hands over his chest, "Ouch. That hurt, it really did."
"Hayden... Kacy? Is there a reason why you two aren't taking notes?" The history teacher, Mrs. Green, asked stopping in the middle of her presentation.
"No mam." Kacy quickly said.
"Yeah, Kacy doesn't like this class and thinks you're a piece of shit teacher." He stated simply as he didn't even turn his head to the teacher, but instead kept his gaze on Kacy.
"Hayden that's detention for you, and Kacy is that true?" She looked at Kacy curiously knowing that she would never even think up such a statement.
"No Mrs. Green, of course not." She defended instantly pleading that her teacher would believe her.
"Very well, now continue back to taking the notes please."
Kacy let out a sigh of relief and shoved her phone into her pocket so she could focus back onto the history notes that laid on the desk in front of her.
"Teachers pet." Hayden murmured under his breath so low that Kacy wished she didn't hear it.
She could feel her face start to redden at the thought of Hayden despising her for no reason and wanting to get her in trouble. A tear was beginning to slip from her eye before the bell rang signaling that it was time to switch classes.
"Okay class we'll finish this lesson up tomorrow, but make sure you guys are studying for Friday's test." Mrs. Green spoke as the students rose from their desks having already packed their bags while the teacher was continuing the lecture.
Kacy quickly made it to her 4th period, completely ignoring Hayden's harsh glare that he cast her way.
When she walked into her next class she was greeted by Ruby's smile.
"Hey Kacy," Ruby said as she removed her backpack from the seat next to her that was saving Kacy's spot.
"Hey. So I see that you're alive." Kacy commented as she sat in her seat
For a mere second Ruby held a puzzled look on her face, "What?"
"Rissa said that she was gonna kill you if you were home watching FRIENDS."
"Oh I wasn't watching friends, my Nan was over," Ruby replied taking out a notebook from her bag.
"Nan? how is she doing, I haven't seen her in a while."
