3. The Plan

After the zombie encounter, I decided to sneak out to check if it was daytime yet. I peered outside just to see the white and blocky-shaped sun rise in the west. I decided that it was safe to go outside and kill some animals for food... big mistake!

The moment I stepped outside, arrows were fired towards me. I turned and saw a skeleton lounging by a tree looking straight at me. Grunting in pain as another arrow was fired straight towards me, I pulled my attack combo, shield in one hand and sword in other, trudged over to the skeleton and killed it in one blow. Well, that was easy, I thought as I picked the goodies it had dropped and turned... to see seven more skeletons hiding under another tree! I was nearly turned into a human pincushion while I staggered over to wipe them out.

After a long battle, the floor was was full of bones, arrows and even a bow. I wiped my brow (or at least, I tried to, but my hands were too short) and went to slaughter some innocent farm animals to replenish my own health.

I soon got a pile of uncooked chicken, pork and beef, and also got a bucket of milk from a cow. I ate some of the food I got and used the wool I got from a few sheep to make a bed so the nights would pass more quickly. I decided the next thing I wanted to do was to build a permanent home base on the ground. I started by digging up some dirt and arranged it in a 5x5 square, then transported everything I had over to the dirt house. I felt that with a house now, the monsters would have a new target, so I started building some defenses around the house. I couldn't risk another attack from the monsters like the skeleton assault.

The first trap coming up was the 'wall and trench'. I built a 5 block high wall with a block sticking out at the top and outside the wall,  I dug a deep trench with explosive-proof blocks lining the sides And a secret tunnel into the pit that led to my house. So, it works like this: first, the zombies come first and fall into the trench and because the skeletons can't see anyone, they will follow the zombies and also fall in the hole. Then, when some of the dangerous monsters (the ones with exploding abilities like the exploding zombie) come, they will try to make the wall go BOOM so the monster 'troops' can rush in and take over, but as soon the wall is in their range, they fall in the pit and blow up their own friends. Since the walls are lined with blast-proof blocks, the pit isn't damaged! And once night is over, I can go through the tunnel and pick up the goodies from the now-dead monsters.

Brilliant plan, right? But of course, even brilliant plans like this could also go brilliantly wrong.
