Chapter 13

A floral fragrance teased at his senses rousing him from his semi-conscious state. At first he thought he must be dreaming such was the unfamiliarity of the smell, but turning towards it he encountered the soft body at his side and he remembered it was all too real, and with the memory came the realization that nothing could be the same again for him. He'd never spent the entire night with a woman, never woken with the warmth of their breath against his skin in the pale light of dawn. In previous relationships he had never wanted anything that event hinted at being permanent. Protecting himself against the possibility of losing somebody he cared for, by not getting close. He hadn't realised how different it would be once his heart was involved. Lex had changed all that. He would rather have one day of complete happiness with her than go back to the hollow relationships he'd had before.

She snuggled closer to him in her sleep her legs entwining intimately with his. What a perfect way to start the day; he could gently tease her awake and then make love to her slowly in the dappled early light. He smiled contentedly as his hand lightly stroked her back, content to tease her with the lightest of touches. She snuggled closer, and a soft sigh escaped her lips. He smiled, maybe she still thought she was dreaming. His finger trailed from the nape of her neck down her spine to the small of her back causing her to squirm slightly, pushing her closer as if silently asking for more. Smiling he obliged, continuing to stroke her spine but no longer stopping at the small of her back. . Her sighs turned to purrs of pleasure as he continued to stroke her.

Alexandra's eyes fluttered open and she smiled sleepily at him as she rolled on to her back "Again do that again."

He made love to her slowly saviouring every second.

As the tremors finally subsided she turned and snuggled close.

"Ricky what we just did, its ok isn't it..? I mean it's not wrong to want to do that..? Her voice was small and quiet. "I can't help thinking what those poor girls are possibly being force to do."

"Oh God yes nothing that perfect can be wrong. You answered your own question it's about choice," he whispered. "You chose to share this with me."

He lay stroking her back.

"Have you ever done that before with anybody else I mean?"

"I..." Ricky was slightly embarrassed. "Occasionally other women have touched me like you did. but not often I've rarely wanted them to, but with you I did. Everything with you is different. I love you Lex, so much." He kissed her slowly fanning the embers of passion until they were flames.

He entered her slowly inch by inch and she wrapped her legs around him. When he was buried deep inside her he spoke again.

"Lex I want you to keep the ring. I want to wake every day and yours to be the first face I see. Keep the ring and marry me."

"Marry me?"

His gaze intensified.

"Will you marry me?"

Tears spiked on her lashes.

"Yes, oh yes. I love you Ricky. I was dreading taking the ring off."

"Thank you Lex for making me complete."

He took her then pushing her from one peak to another before once more they peaked together.

They passed the morning in bed, reading the papers and drinking tea, in between making love. They talked about the stories in the papers and Ricky did the crossword. She'd been surprised when he'd come back with The Times. Assumptions were dangerous she realised, especially when he proceeded to complete the cross word in under an hour. When she called him smarty pants he'd stunned her further by asking her what she expected from a scholarship boy. He was right, too many people looked at the bike and the leathers and not at him. They talked of many things, but strangely not the future. It wasn't that they weren't sure of their feelings, more that events had cruelly taught them how fragile life and the future could be.
