“Okay, I think we did everything.” Sky said, checking things off her list, “We got food, the cake is in the fridge… anything else?”

“Hmm.. What about my kisses? You forgot those.” Kale replied, Sky rolled her eyes playfully and kissed Kale’s cheek, then her lips.

“What time is it?”

“Oh wow, its already two… people should be here any minute now!” Sky said excitedly. Soon, the doorbell rang. Sky sprinted towards the door and opened it to find Liyah, Kai, and Sunnie standing there.

“Ahh! It’s so nice to see you guys again!” Sky gave Liyah a hug, then Kai, and proceeded to Sunnie, picking her up.

“You’ve grown so big Sunnie!” Sky said to Sunnie, booping her nose. Sunnie giggled, as Sky put her down.

“Hey, how’s it been?” Kale asked.

“Pretty good actually, I’ve been good, Sunnie’s been good, I think Kai’s been good.” Liyah answered. The doorbell rang again and again, until everyone finally arrived. The place wasn’t crowded, but there was just enough people. Other little kids came to the party to spend some time with Sunnie on her birthday, they all played with some toys Liyah brought, and the adults talked about life and caught up.

Everyone was enjoying the time.

Liyah sighed and rubbed her stomach feeling a little sick.

“I’ll be right back..” Liyah said, rushing to the bathroom. Kai looked a little worried.

“Say uh, Kai..” Sky said, trying not to be offensive in anyway, “Is Liyah.. Pregnant?”

Kai looked at her and back at the bathroom door.

“Yeah, she is. One month in, we haven’t told anyone yet because we wanted to find out the gender first.”

“Woah!” Kale said, “I’m going to have another niece or nephew?”

“Yep.” Kai responded, still worried about Liyah.

“It’s okay Kai. It’s normal, her body is still getting used to having a baby in there after four years of not having a baby.” Sky spoke.

“Okay, I’ve just never really done this before.”

“Don’t worry.”

Liyah walked out of the bathroom.

“Did you throw up?” Kai asked, standing up. He grabbed her hands.

“No, I just feel really nauseous.”

“We can go to the doctor sometime this week if you would like.”

“Um.. Let’s not talk about this right now.”

Kai looked around, nodded and sat back down. Liyah sat beside him.
