Your POV
That night we all decided that we could restore base in the morning so all could get some sleep. I had a room with Tom while everyone else had their own rooms, this was fine with me. Tom was my brother after all.
The window had no curtains so the moon shined through right away, casting its pale gray light on everything in its path. The night critters' music rose up as the daytime noises went dry. A steady hum came from the AC.
A labored sigh escaped me as I laid down in my bed close to the window, letting my face have the moonlight shine brightly on it. As long as I got rest.
"Night bro."
"Night y/n."
I smiled faintly as I closed my eyes to get some rest, not aware of another person's presence outside. Three hours into the night I woke up from bed weight. My eyes flickered open and looked to my side to find a man in a red hoodie. My eyes widened when I realized who it was.
"Tord?! What are-"
He placed his hand on my mouth. "Shh, it's alright. I'm not going to kill you." After he removed his hand I shot him a glare.
"Then why are you here?"
"That's... complicated." He shook his head and gave me a weird smirk. "Come, I want to show you something."
A heavy sigh escaped me before I placed my hand in his and getting out through the window. From there he led me across a field full of wildflower then we stopped by a lake lit from the moonlight. The critters continued their songs while other night creatures went out and about. The wind made the lake have its own sound too, more like a whoosh and whispers combined. By us was an old oak tree that had cast shadows over the plains full of green.
"This... is what you wanted to show me?" I turned to Tord who just grinned and nodded. If I had to say what I thought of it, I'd probably say it's beautiful because that was the truth. These days I didn't have the time to examine the beauty around me nor take in the sights, it felt like its been forever since I saw something so like this.
I returned a heartwarming smile to Tord. "Thank you... I needed this."
"You're welcome. Come... we got to get you back before the others notice somethings off, including Thomas." his words were filled with sadness which he tried to hide but failed. I didn't want to leave either but we were enemies to eachother after all, no matter how much I hated it.
"Okay..."
