Nico's point of view

Summer break was over and now we had to go back to school, I wasn't all that sad I mean my holidays weren't eventful my best friend Carmen Valdez, and yes she had a twin brother called Leo, was away in Spain, and the rest of my friends, Will Solace and Thalia Grace were pretty much packed. So it was me and well... me. And my sisters Bianca just well hung out with friends. They were obviously more social than I was but then again loads of people were more social than I was. My dad but he was obsessed with work so I didn't see much of him.

There was a knock from the front door, and I knew it was Carmen coming to walk with me to school, we both hated public transport, and I gulped the rest of my cereal, and ran to the front door. Opening it I came face to face with a Spanish girl, here tan skin and dark brown eyes. She was one of the most beautiful kids in our year, she was wearing her cheer leading uniform as she had tryouts after school that she had to guide. If I wasn't gay than I would feel over whelmed in her presence, but as I said BEST FRIEND, we have been friends since prep when I stood up to some bullies for her, even though we both got hurt anyway.

"Hi Angel face. I haven't seen you in forever." She stated, I hated that pet name that she had for me, but since I told her that my last name was di Angelo, which means Angel in Italian, she won't stop making fun of me for it. You see Carmen can speak fluent Latin, Spanish, Italian and French. She is a real smarty pants when it comes to languages and school work in general but she is also super athletic, and is head cheerleader. She was what you considered perfect, aside from the fact she had a wicked temper, and was extremely sarcastic

I groaned. "Can't you be more creative?" I sated.

"Fine, hi...." she paused as she considered her next words.

"Death breath." She said.

"You know what never mind."

"Come on we don't want to be late on the first day." She said, bounding down the steps, and me running after her.

We arrived at school just on time and headed to our first class witch was English. We sat down at the back of the class getting all the materials needed. When other students started filing into class. Mr Burner, rolled through the door on his wheelchair.

"OK, class let's get settled." He said and immediately everyone was quiet. Not wanting to get in trouble on the first day.

"We will be starting the class of easy, but in the third week I will be assigning your assignment to do with a partner..." there was a mumble from the students trying to arrange their partners.

"That I will assign." Mr. Burner stated. The whole class groaned in unison.

"Well let's start the lesson."

When lunch finally came I was exhausted, and so hungry, I got out my lunch box and headed to my normal table. Carmen eventually sat down next to me.

"So, who wants to go back to holidays?" she asked, I gave her an exasperated sigh. That gave her enough information.

"Hi guys." Said Will as he sat down, Will and Thalia had their own groups that they normally hung out with but we have always been very close.

"How was everyone's holidays?" Will asked as Thalia sat down next to Carmen.

"Spain was amazing." Carmen said.

"Mine were OK," Thalia said.

"Well, mine were great." Will said. And he told us all about his holidays, I mostly zoned out for this part, and I just thought about well... everything.
