You felt yourself slipping into sleep, tiredness washing over you, but a small part of you was still conscious.
Loki and you had hung out all day long, and it was wonderful. You had done nothing special, nothing extravegant, except enjoying each other's company. Now you were both tired, lying in bed, his arms around your back, keeping you warm. You felt his breath, slow and steady across your neck, feeling like a butterfly's wing gently flapping against your neck. His legs were entangled in yours, inseparable. No words were spoken, but none needed to be said. His heartbeat was the poetry he gave to you.
Loki's eyes watched over you, taking in every inch of your sleeping face, and once you fell asleep, he pulled you a little tighter, keeping you a little safer. He smiled, wondering how he had ever gotten so lucky to have a lady like you in his life.
"I love you." He whispered, placing the softest of all kisses on your lips, careful not to wake you. Soon after, Loki fell asleep beside you, and that was how both of you wanted to spend your lifes. In each other's arms.
