I'm Only Human

I love her, I truly do. Honest to heart, but there is only so much I could do for my beloved Swan. I love her too much just to watch her be killed or broken. I've always been there for her, day-in and day-out. Sometimes she tells me to tag along with her, sometimes she'll say otherwise. What happened that day, I should've listened...

It would only take a few hours was what she said to me. I always believed her, but that day, I didn't. I followed her. She was on a mission of some sort hunting down this wizard named Jafar I think. Whatever his name was, he was a force to be reckoned with.

-flashback-

"Swan, I'm coming with you." I grabbed her shoulder to face me. Her eyes were red from tears and her eyes were a dull green. "I don't want to lose you. I've lost too many. You're staying in town, and that's finale." She pushed me away and walked into the forest.

I new she's come back, but the question was, who won't? There was David, Snow, Gold, and Regina going with her. When they come back, I bet at least two of them would be severely injured. I just hoped Swan wouldn't be one of them.
Being the pirate I was, I followed her anyway. I didn't want to be seen, so I always hid behind a few trees whenever she'd turn around. Thank god it was dark. If it was daytime, she would've seen me and given me one of her one hour speeches.

They came across an eery cave. I new at this moment, they'd see me, so I showed myself. "Sorry Swan. I said I was coming with you, and I kept that promise." She snapped back at me, "HOOK?!?! What're you doing here?! Go back to town!! Oh never mind...no used of making you leave. Your like glue. Just-just don't bother me."

We all entered the cave and felt a chill in the air. An evil one. An echo was forced around the cave leaving Snow a bit frightened. "Wrong choice to follow me savior. Now you shall pay with your life." It was Jafar.

Boulders were in the air targeting all off us. David and Snow didn't have magic, so the ran around dodging. Regina, Gold, and Emma had magic so it was no problem for them. Although for me, not one boulder was headed for me. I just stood there looking right at Jafar.I might've had no magic, but the are many things a one-handed pirate could do.

I quickly unclipped my hook and darted it towards Jafar. He was all too caught up to notice a hook flying right at him. He screamed in pain and dropped the boulders. He struggled trying to pull it out, but it was no use, he was dying.

There was a sudden scream across the cave. It was Snow. She was tied up against the cave walls choking to death. There was a crying yell behind us, it was Jafar. "I might be dying, but I'll bring someone down with me. If you want her to live, someone must take her place."

I looked back towards them. They were all arguing for how to save Snow, even Gold was shaking. I had no choice. I didn't want to see this family suffer anymore.

"I'll do it."

They all turned to me with horrified looks. Emma yelled. "No way are you dying on me Hook you hear me?!" I scoffed. "Look at her Swan!! She's your mother! No way she's dying! I'll take her place." We all stood silent, with their eyes still focused on me. Suddnely, I felt light headed and fell unconscious.

I slowly opened my eyes. I couldn't breath. I couldn't feel either. I looked down and saw myself tied up against the weird vines and ropes being squeezed to death. I looked up back at Emma and gave her a slight smile. "Go. Leave me here. I just saved your mother' life. Please...Swan....go now." Those were the last words I said to her until I blacked out...permanently.

-flashback over-

The last thing I remember is Emma being dragged away from the cave sobbing uncontrollably by her parents. I've saved Emma countless times, but never like this. I just realized, I'm only human.

I could hold my breath, I could bite my tongue. I could've stayed awake for days, if that what she wanted, even be her number one. I could faked a smile, I could forced a laugh. I could dance or play the part if that's what she asked. I gave her all I am...

I could only take so much - till I've had enough...

Because I was only human...

Such a sad ending....even made me cry, and I was the one who wrote it!! Oh, and the paragraph that explains how he was only human, I got those words from a song with the same title as this shot: I Am Only Human
