chapter 1

Another summer ended, another year of school started. Luckily it was the last one for Stefani. She hated school with all her being and not because of the teachers or the hard classes, but because of all the teens in there. They are all mean to her, even is she did nothing so they would hate her. Ever since Stefani started highschool she's been bullied constantly. She never told her parents that she has a hard life at school, they already had to deal with her little sister Natali.

Stefani got up and did her morning routine. She has a feeling that this year is gonna be her year. She didn't know why, but she is confident about it.
This was Stefani's first "free year" as well, as her parents bought her an apartment for her 17th birthday. She is a grown now and she needs to learn to stand up for herself.

She took an apple from the kitchen, her lunch and made her way to school. This is it ,she thaught, the hell begins again.
She ate her apple petiently waiting for her bus. It was a short ride, so in 15 minutes she arrived to school.

She entered and tried to not make eye contact with anyone. She made immediately her way to her locker to take her books for the first class. As she closed and turned around she saw Chris and Mike looking at her. They were one of her biggest enemies, beside the bitch of the school, Irina.

"Oh, hi Germ! We missed you" Mike smiled.

"Can you just...leave me alone?" she tried to walk past them.

But Mike pushed her and her back hit the locker. Chris took her English book and tried to run, but was stopped by a tall brunet man.

"And were do you think you're going?" he asked sarcastically

Chris didn't answer and looked down, ashamed that he was caught.

"Give me the book and leave before I will go to the principal, both of you!"

The two boys went away without looking back. He looked at the book and then at the petite girl that was massaging her back. She is beautiful Bradley thought. She was short and had long brown hair with hazel green eyes.

"Hey! I think this is yours. Are you okay?" he handed her the book

"Yes! I am okay! Thank you so much!"

She looked up and she remained stunned. It was a charming tall man, with brown messy hair and ocean blue eyes. She doesn't remember seeing him around here. Then the bell rang and broke Stefani's stare.

"You don't have to thank me. Be careful" and he left, leaving Stefani speechless.

After 4 boring classes finally her favourite one was coming, after the art class. She loved history and loved her teacher, Ms. Henderson.

She entered the class and took a sit in front. Stefani was waiting patiently for the teacher to arrive looking at her phone when heard a pair of heels aproaching. She looked at the door and saw Irina entering the classroom. This day couldn't be worse she thought.
Stefani heard the door opening again and she saw the man that saved her earlier entering the room. Everyone remaining quiet, not knowing who the man was.

"Uh, hi! My name is Bradley Cooper and from now one I will be your History teacher" he smiled making Stefani smile too " Ms. Henderson retired and I am here to take her place"

Bradley looked around, stopping when he found a known face. There was the girl he met earlier on the hallway.

"For the first class I would like to know you better. You will stand up one by one and you will tell me your name and one of your passions. What would you guys like to do after highschool. Okay?" everyone nodded "So, starting from here" he pointed to Stefani's bench making her blush.

She stood up and everyone begun to laugh "Eh, silence!" he shouted "So, what's you name?"

"Uhh...My name's Stefani Germanotta"

"Nice to meet you Stefani! By your name, I guess...you have some italian roots?"

"Actually yes" she smiled "My family are italian immigrants but I was born here, in New York"

"Very interesting! My family is italian too. I think we will get along well" he smiled "And your passion?"

"My passion is music. I play piano and sing" she looked into his eyes and smiled.

She got out of trance when everyone begun to laugh again. She bent her head down playing with her fingers.

"Only if you had any talent" Irina laughed from the back making the class laugh harder.

Stefani tried her best not to cry but a little tear felt down her cheek, wiping her immediately.
Bradley looked at Stefani and saw her tear.

He slammed his palm on the teachers table making everyone stop "Okay, first rule in my class. Everyone will listen to their collegues and I will not accept you to make jokes of each other. Clear?" he shouted.

Everyone nodded and Stefani looked in his eyes giving him a thankful smile.
"Thank you Stefani! You can sit down now. Next!"

The bell rang letting everyone know that the class is over and the lunch break arrived. All of them hurried to get out leaving Stefani the last one.
Bradley took his book and looked again at Stefani.

"Is it always like this?"

She looked up from her phone "Excuse me?"

"With your classmates? Is it always like this?"

"Oh, yeah! Ever since I started highschool. I tried to talk to someone but no one is listening to me. Even some teachers laugh at their jokes" she made a little pause "I just can't wait for everything to be over"

"I am sorry! I promise you that, at least at my class, I won't accept them to make jokes" he smiled.

Bradley was completely hypnotized by her beauty. He still can't believe how they could make bad things to a sweet girl like her. She just looked too pure to do anything wrong.

"Thank you Mr. Cooper! We need more teachers like you in this school"

"I am just doing the right thing." he smiled "You don't go have lunch?"

"No. I prefer to stay here and eat my sandwiches. I prefer to be alone"

He nodded, turned around and left. Stefani was really special. He doesn't understand how she can live with all the bullying. All the way to the canteen he thought about Stefani. It felt so wrong but so good at the same time.
Come on, Bradley! She is your student and it's not okay! You can lose your job and also go to jail. She is minor for fuck sake! he shook his head.
