A group of friends enter a bar, laughing and smiling as they went to find a table. The bar they had chosen was styled after an old tavern. There was a small area where musicians could play their music, the interior walls looked as if they were made with cobblestone. The whole area gave off a magical vibe and that's exactly why the group had gone there.
The sat down with wide grins and one ran a hand through their short and fluffy brown hair. He wore a necklace with small charms; one in the shape of a wooden mask and the other was a small cluster of autumn leaves. He wore a brown leather jacket with a few patches on it, as well as some jeans and boots. Freckles were sprinkled all over his cheeks and his emerald hues shined with excitement and a hint of adventure.
"Ah, welcome back everyone!" A woman behind the counter smiles as he starts to give everyone their usual drinks. She was dressed up in a white undershirt and an orange vest. She had a long blonde braid that was brushed to one side and when she smiled, her cheeks seemed to glimmer in the tavern lights. "So what's the occasion?"
"Can't we drink when we feel like it?" Paddy laughed, his irish accent coming through.
"Well of course you can. Don't drink too much though, you still owe me a favor." The bartender winked and slid Paddy's drink across the table. He caught a hold of it, lifted it slightly before winking back and taking a swig.
"What's this favor she's talking about, hm?" Torlin leaned over and giggled. She had bright yellow hair and colorful clothes. She wore a vest that was decorated in pins and wore a necklace with a small lute charm.
"Its nothing much, I'm just going to help her with her letter to someone." Paddy chuckled.
"Whatever you need to tell yourself Pads." Gimgar chuckled as she pulled Torlin into a hug. Gimgar had hair that was shaved on the sides but just enough hair to brush to the side to reveal her ear piercings. She gave Paddy a grin. "I mean, we know you're gay but she might be into you."
"It certainly seems like it." Nagar shrugged. He was a tall, muscular, and jolly man with tattoos covering his arms and a bit of his chest.
"Oh quit teasing him, he writes letters to his family all the time. He's definitely fit for the job." A man with ginger hair and slight beard spoke. He wore a few necklaces with crystal charms over a grey sweater. He took a sip of his drink before chuckling softly. "Best of luck to the both of you."
"Thanks Rook. I'll drink to that!" Paddy trust his cup into the air before taking another swig. His gaze had fallen to the small stage to see a tall man sitting on a stool, tuning his guitar.
He wore a scarf that covered a part of his face. He ran a hand through his fluffy light brown hair before going to tune the guitar a bit more.
Icy blue hues met emerald ones, causing Paddy to blink and turn away. The musician blushed a bit before tuning his guitar.
Paddy called the bartender over, occasionally glancing back at the musician.
"Finished already? I thought I told you to not get wasted?"
"Not why I called you over. Who's that?"
She turned her head and chuckled while turning back to Paddy. "You mean Malark? He just started preforming here."
"Malark..." He repeated, smiling slightly.
The Bartender chuckled as she was drying out a glass.
"You should tip him at the end of the show. Maybe throw in your number as well."
"Rosa!"
Paddy shook his head and focused on the musician in front of him. The lights began to dim and he began to sing.
"We are runnin' so fast
And we never look back
And whatever I lack, you make up
We make a really good team
And not everyone sees
We got this crazy chemistry
Between us"Paddy starts tapping his foot along to the rhythm, a soft smile tugging at the edge of his lips.
"Jump starting your car 'cause this city's a bore
Buying e-cigarettes at the convenience store
Making new clichés on our own little tour
Let's rideYou don't have to say I love you to say I love you
Forget all the shooting stars and all the silver moons
We've been making shades of purple out of red and blue
Sickeningly sweet like honey, don't need money
All I need is you
All I need is you, you"Paddy's face heats up as Mal's eyes meet his once again. The singer grins and continues.
"We try staying up late
But we both are light weights
Yeah we get off our face, too easy
And we take jokes way too far
And sometimes living's too hard
We're like two halves of one heart
We are, we are, we areYou don't have to say I love you to say I love you
Forget all the shooting stars and all the silver moons
We've been making shades of purple out of red and blue
Sickeningly sweet like honey, don't need money
All I need is you
All I need is you, you"Mal's hand continues to strum the guitar as he focuses on the stranger in front of him. He feels his own face heat up, his heart beating along to the rhythm as he continues.
"Eat a pill stay and chill, you don't need to go
I'm about to bring emo back if you leave my home
I'd panic at the disco and you'd rather watch a TV show
Then I'll squeeze your booty real hard like I'm kneading dough
Pizza boy, I'm speeding for ya
We can get married tonight if you really wanna
Me in a cheap suit like a sleazy lawyer
And if you break this lil' heart, it'd be an honorYou don't have to say I love you to say I love you
Forget all the shooting stars and all the silver moons
We've been making shades of purple out of red and blue
Sickeningly sweet like honey, don't need money
All I need is you
All I need is you, you"The tavern applauds as Mal stands up and takes a slight bow. Paddy continues to watch him as he walks into a back room. Rosa chuckles, causing him to snap out of his lovestruck trance. She smiles and offers him a piece of tea stained paper and a pen with a feather taped to it.
"Leave a note. I'll make sure he gets it."
Paddy thanks her and begins to write. He signs it and puts his phone number there as well. The friend group waves their goodbyes as Paddy lingers at the door, glancing back up at Rosa.
"Don't worry! He'll get the letter!"
He smiles and nods before leaving the bar, the bell jingling as the door closed behind him.
