It was after hours. You really should be asleep right now. But the temptation to explore the island you called 'home' was too strong to resist. Maybe you shouldn't have brought your friend with you, but he was quiet, and really, you didn't like doing things alone. Besides, as much as Mime Bomb was known for being a snitch, you knew he wouldn't turn you in. Especially not since he was with you.
You paused once you got outside, and MB clearly wasn't expecting that as he stumbled into you. You quickly caught him and sent him an impish grin. "Thank God I remembered to wear my gloves tonight because you are too hot to handle."
Mime Bomb blinked at you, then grimaced, seemingly startled, but you just pat his back.
"Your legs must be pretty sore from all the running through my dreams you did, huh?" You asked, helping him stand up properly.
The moon glinted dangerously off the waves as you and Mime Bomb continued walking down the cement sidewalks. After awhile, you glanced over at him, grin tugging at your lips yet again. "Your hand looks kinda heavy... can I hold it for you?"
Mime Bomb froze in place, eyes going comically wide before he nodded. Truth be told, Mime Bomb really, really liked you. Words just weren't his things, and he wasn't sure how he could gesture his feelings. You had always been horrible at the guessing games you two played. Although, that might have been on purpose, since you always seemed to know what he was thinking. He swallowed and nodded, holding his hand out to yours. Oh God, he was doing it. He was going to hold your hand!
You loosely took his hand in your own. In that moment, you were extremely glad you'd worn gloves. Flirting with someone you had a crush on was nerve wracking, and it made your hands a little sweaty. At least he wouldn't be able to tell.
A comfortable silence settled between the two of you as you walked on, heading into the thicket of trees to see whatever you could under the starlight. "Hey, Mime Bomb? Think you could smile? Your smiles tend to light up a room, and it's kinda dark in here."
For that, he was thankful. If it hadn't been for the face paint he wore, you would have been able to tell just how red he was, but with that last line... well, he wasn't sure the face paint would have cut it.
Unfortunately, the darkness caused the two of you to trip over a tree root. You landed on top of Mime Bomb, much to your delight. "Well, it seems like you've fallen for me!" You said with a cheeky grin as you got off him and helped him back up.
Once you had both dusted yourselves off, you continued onwards until you were down by the beach. You looked over at Mime Bomb, a small smirk making its way onto your face. "D-"
Before you could even get the first word out, Mime Bomb covered your mouth with his hand. He was a flustered mess and it showed. Not that you were complaining. You thought he was cute like that, but you decided to give it a break for now.
You moved his hand away and held it instead. The two of you walked quietly down the beach, stopping every so often to quietly admire the stars and moon. Okay, maybe you let loose a few more pick up lines in those moments, but it was too hard to resist.
As the two of you headed back to the school, you paused. "Hey, y'know you don't need Earth's gravity to make me fall for you, right? Cuz I like you a lot." You whispered solemnly, squeezing his hand just a little.
At that confession, Mime Bomb practically passed out. It wasn't until the next week that he was able to gesture he liked you too, but you had no problem waiting.
