Danny's POV
I could feel someone's eyes on me as I was doing laps of the pool and when coach called me over to tell me I had beaten my best time on the 100 meters freestyle. I felt a burst of pride erupt in my chest but it left as quickly as it came. Coach then told me I practiced enough for the day and I could go shower. As I was getting out of the pool I felt the same eyes staring into my back, it was probably just Joe waiting for me though.

After getting showered and changed I walked back to the stands at the side of the pool where Joe was, but Joe wasn't alone. There was a man standing beside him but I couldn't see his face as his back was turned to me. From what I could see he was quite muscular, but not so much that there were veins popping out of his arms or anything. The man said something to Joe then turned around and saw me standing watching them. He was gorgeous and I couldn't help the silent gasp that escaped my mouth, something flashed in his eyes but it was gone a second later.

He had light brown hair that was short at the sides and longer at the top, piercing hazel eyes, a strong jaw and cheekbones. I had never seen anyone so beautiful, but I couldn't figure out what emotion he looked at me with, I hoped it wasn't hatred. He didn't even know me so I didn't want him to judge me before he got to know me, he would probably hate me then anyway though. The man then smiled at me and walked the short distance over to me,
"You must be Danny, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Joe's uncle, James."
His deep, gravelly voice sent shivers down my spine and I think he must have noticed as the corners of his mouth turned up a little bit more, showing the making of two dimples in his cheeks. And here I was thinking that he couldn't get any hotter but I was wrong.
"Uh, hi, yeah I'm Danny."
I looked at Joe and he was smiling at my awkward response so I glared at him.
"Should we go now?" Joe asked his uncle.
"Yeah, come on then, the cars parked out front." he responded, then looked embarrassed seeing as we already knew the car park was there.

When we got to the car, James unlocked the door and got in the drivers seat. Joe was just about to get in the passenger seat but I grabbed his arm before he opened the door.
"You didn't tell me he was hot, or young." I frowned.
"Sorry, he's a couple years older than us and I usually don't go around telling people that my uncle is hot." He sarcastically responded then smiled, "You'll like him, he's really nice, don't worry." He then got in the car and so did I.
"So how did school go?" James quizzed when we were buckled in and driving out of the school grounds.
"Fairly well if I do say so myself" Joe grinned.
"You are such a liar Joe, when I was in school I hated it! Everyone was so annoying and childish, I'm surprised you didn't turn out that way, I suppose your dad taught you better than that though." He said as an after thought.
"Danny, how was your day?" He asked me.
"It was fine" I replied in a monotone voice, I didn't like school or the people at school apart from Joe and Penny due to the fact that everyone treated me like crap and always made fun of me.
"Oh come on, it must have been better than that" he joked.
"It was fine." I repeated my answer to him again, more forcefully this time. I could see Joe shake his head at his uncle to get him to leave the subject alone.
"Okay then, but sometimes it better to talk about things than to keep them inside where they fester." James resigned and lent back in his seat to concentrate on driving. I just turned around to the window and watched as the world went by, thinking about how things have already festered inside of me to the point of self-hatred but I didn't say that out loud, my expression didn't even falter from looking bored and disinterested.
Once we reached Joe's house the tension in the air dissipated, leaving a much calmer feeling in its wake. Joe turned around to look at me "Do you want to stay tonight, we can have a movie marathon or something?" He was almost pleading with me.
"Yeah, sure, I could do with getting out of that house for a night." I smiled, it was a small smile but a smile non the less. Joe smiled back wider, showing his straight white teeth. James looked interested in why I didn't want to go home but he didn't say anything about it.

*A/n*
Sorry for such a long wait and a short chapter, in going to try and edit them all once this is finished to make it more detailed but you'll have to put up with this right now. I've had a lot of things going on, with prelims and trying to finish school stuff in time but at the end of the week I have a two week holiday so I'm going to try and update more.
