"The gathering shall begin!" Nightstar yowled. Cats gathered around the Great Tree and settled into clan groups.

"After the recent attack," Nightstar glared at Swiftstar, looking like he was going to start a fight.

"We have increased night parols and added Border Attack patrols. Stepping on more than a kitstep around our border for any reason we will attack. A kit or any cat too weak to fight will be held for hostage and be exchanged for another cat or something we want. An apprentice will be scratched just enough that he or she just can walk back to camp. " Gasps of horror spread around Lakeclan and Grassclan. Swiftstar and Waterstar murmured into each other ears, planning something.

"I must admit, I have attacked you Nightstar, but you are on your last life, aren't you? Why take ambition?" Swiftstar meowed harshly. Cats gasped around the Great Tree. Nightstar was on his last life! He had learned a bit or two about other leaders because he had already been an apprentice for over a moon already, but not this!

"Swiftstar! You must not talk about my lives! Starclan will be angry!"

"Or will they?" Waterstar questioned the black leader. "Nightstar you have caused a war between us! Will Starclan be angry at us giving some self-defence, or you causing so much bloodshed and death? Mistyheart was killed because of you! And your own cats! Beestripe and Gempaw have suffered death because of your bloody methods! And Windkit? Named after your friend Windstar now in Starclan? How could you! You'll end up in the Dark Forest! What power do you think you have? You've got bees in your brain!" Murmurs of agreement silenced the gasps of the Treeclan cats.

"You've done quite enough Waterstar! Just remember what I said! One kit step! Look clouds are covering the moon! They're angry at yo-" Nightstar growled like he was yowling.

"More like you, dark leader! The gathering is to an end!" Swiftstar growled. All the cats started to head back to camp, and so did Firepaw. He found himself next Brightsky and decided to ask some questions.

"Is Nightstar really on his last life?" Firepaw asked. It seemed like all the apprentices gathered around Brightsky, waiting for his answer.

"Yes Firepaw, this brings me to the story of Nightstar's Lives, I've lived long enough to tell the tale. So at the start, I was an apprentice at that time. I was near my warrior ceremony, and so was Nightpaw. I remember the time I became Brightsky, it was...proud?" Brightsky meowed. "I went to the gathering, and I saw Nightclaw. We talk to each other every gathering and soon fell in love. We started meeting each other secretly and night, but soon Windstar found out, and yes I got put on apprentice duties for a whole moon!" Everyone laughed because everyone seemed to be listening, even Swiftstar!

"Come On!" Swiftstar meowed. "Tell them how Windstar used to announce punishments!"

"No, Swiftstar! No!" Brightsky growled playfully.

"Leader word is code!" Swiftstar teased.

"Fine, leader!"Brightsky meowed. "It went something like this-I, Windstar of Grassclan, has found this warrior, Brightsky, breaking the warrior code, and will punish her by confining her to the camp, having the last share of prey, guarding the camp during whole night, and performing apprentice duties, for a moon, unless this warrior shows a significant act. Brightsky, do you confirm that this was your fault and accept this punishment? And of course, you would have to say yes so-I confirm that this was my fault and will promise to fully and hardly perform this punishment. Then Windstar would say-From now on this warrior shall be treated as an apprentice, and shall sleep in the apprentice den until her punishment is over. As a part of this punishment, she shall be named as Brightpaw and shall train with her temporary mentor, Swiftstride. Swiftstride will decide what Brightpaw will do and will allow her to go out.  Windstar was really harsh on punishments, and so is Swiftstar!" The clan laughed very hard.

"True, and unlucky, I was her mentor, I'm only a moon bigger than her. I teased her a lot, and when every she set a claw wrong I would threaten to tell Windstar to make the punishment longer. She had begged to not tell Windstar, well I did not. I confined her to the camp for most of the day and made her run laps till sunhigh from Great Rocks to the Moss Pond."Swiftstar meowed.

They had arrived back at camp, and all the laughter had stopped. Firepaw was exhausted and padded to his nest to fall asleep.
