~Time skip 'cuz the fight wasn't that interesting. (the ninjas are at the warehouse right now)~
Claire's POV
Ok? So, she's now pulling a Hawkmoth? And the victims that were affected still don't remember a thing? That's just . . .I don't know what it is.
"Claire, are you able to stay with us for the weekend?" Lloyd asked.
"I don't know . . . it depends if my mother will let me go. You know how parents are," I said. "Besides, aren't you trusting me a little too quickly?"
"No, you have already shown us that you are on our side," he replied.
That hit me like a ton of rocks. I know how to conceal my feelings . . . most of the time. My phone went off. The person who had text me was Mother. No shocker there. This is what she said:
Mother Knows Best
Où es-tu? (Where are you?)
Je suis chez un ami. (I'm at a friend's house.)
Tu es censé me dire si tu vas être ailleurs que chez toi.
(You're supposed to tell me if you're going to be somewhere other than home.)Je suis désolé, maman.
(I'm sorry, Mother.)Ne recommence pas.
(Don't do it again.)Oui, madame.
(I have heard earlier that you pulled a stunt earlier today. I'm very disappointed in you. You're not supposed to act like that in school. Instead of grounding you, you are going to clean the entire apartment and make food. Is that clear?)Oui, maman.
(Yes, Mother.)Dites "Oui, madame."
(Say "Yes, ma'am.)Oui, madame.
(Yes, ma'am.)J'ai besoin que tu rentres.
(I need you to come home.)Oui, madame. On se voit quand je rentrerai.
(Yes,ma'am.I'll see you when I get home.)Oh, chérie. Je suis toujours au travail. se rappeler? Je ne serai pas à la maison avant huit heures du soir. Tu dois vraiment t'en souvenir.
(Oh, sweetie. I am still at work. Remember? I won't be home until eight o'clock in the evening. You really need to remember that.)D'accord, maman. On se voit quand tu rentreras.
(Okay, Mother. See you when you get home)On se voit, pomme frites.
(See you, apple fries.)~~~End of text messaging~~~
Apple fries? Really? She hasn't called me that in a long time.
"Hate to bug you guys, but I have to be home before 7:15," I said.
"That isn't until a couple of hours," Nya said.
"I know, but my mother said that she wanted me home right now," I said.
"Before you depart, Claire," Sensei Wu said. "Come with me for mentor talk. The rest of you, practice spinjitsu."
Everybody groaned. I think I heard somebody say that I was lucky. Somebody, sure doesn't like practicing.
"Yes, Sensei Wu," I responded.
No One's POV
When the two went to the boat that was resting on the water, the wise old, man with the big long beard asked, "Do you know why I brought you here?"
"No, Sir," young woman replied.
"I sense great potential in you, but it seems as though something is holding you back," he said. That made me a little uncomfortable.
"Sensei Wu, if you are inquiring that I should make the thing that is holding me back stop, it'll be easier said than done."
"Claire, you have your friends to help you. Friends will help guide each other through hard times, and together, they can become almost unstoppable."
"Almost? You make it sound as though something can stop them."
"There is. But, that is another thing for another day. Just remember what I said."
"Yes, sensei."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know this is shorter than the last chapter, but it's really hard to Sensei Wu sound cryptic. It's harder than it looks. I hope I did okayish. Did I do it well enough to sound as though Sensei Wu is actually talking?
