Chapter 22

Axel's POV

After Jay and I got home, we ate dinner and just sat on his bed, watched a movie and cuddled. I fell asleep early on in the movie, and woke up with Jay spooning me on his bed. I haven't slept in my own bed since I've moved in, and I don't think I ever will.

We got up and ate the breakfast that the maids made. We got into the car and headed to school. We sang and laughed during the whole car ride to school. Well, it was more like Jay sang off-key and I laughed.

The first two periods passed by in a blur, and soon it was lunch. I walked into the cafeteria and see Jack waving me over. I sit down, and smile at Pete and Jack.

"So, how are you and Franco doing?" I ask and Pete blushes. Pete and Franco talked a while ago, and they decided to start off as friends. Pete seems happier and that's all that matters. Though, they would not so subtly flirt and I wondered why they still haven't gotten together.

He nods, "We're dating as of yesterday"

Jack and I squeal like girls, earning weird looks from tables around us. "We're so happy for you guys! Have your parents found out?" Jack says, and Pete frowns a little.

"No, not yet. Thankfully. Franco's really grateful for Axe offering a place to stay if they do find out though." Pete says and I give him a sad smile.

"Actually, that's off the table. I got kicked out of my old place so now I'm staying with Jay. Sorry Pete" I give him an apologetic look as Pete and Jack look at me with wide eyes. They both look down, like they're figuring out what to say to me.

Jack looks up at me first, and I mouth I'll tell you later. He nods.

Pete then looks up, "I guess I have a reason to stay at Franco's now, since he offered as well" I smile, relieved that Pete has a plan B.

"Hey babe" I hear his voice behind me and I smile. Jay leans down to kiss my cheek, and sits beside me.

He turns to look at me, with a big smile on his face. "Hi, you're awfully happy" I say, an amused smile on my face.

Jay shrugs, "Franco told me about him and Pete, and I'm happy they've got it figured out" He turns to look at Pete, "Congrats, man"

Pete smiles, "Thanks. Speaking of Franco, where is he?"

"He's lining up to get his food" Jay points to the lunch line, "Tyler says he's not coming today, teacher needed to talk to him or something"

I nod and turn back to my friends, to see Jack frowning. Then all of a sudden, a smile breaks on his face when he checks his phone. What's up with him?

I give him the what-the-hell-are-you-smiling-about look and he just waves me off, mouthing I'll tell you later. I nod. We eat, and soon Franco joins us. Franco and Pete are trying to hide their relationship, so they barely interact, but I can see them sending glances at each other from time to time. I think it's cute.

Jay's arm snakes around my waist, and whispers in my ear. "Them trying to hide their relationship is hilarious. They're trying to be subtle, yet the glances they're sending each other are so desperate"

I chuckle, and whisper in his ear, "It's cute though, they clearly really care about each other but can't do anything about it or Pete will suffer the consequences"

Jay nods, and as he's about to say something else, but Jack's voice interrupts.

"What are you two love birds whispering about?" He gives me a knowing look and I blush.

"It's not like that-"

"I'm telling him what I'm going to do to him when we get home" Jay cuts me off and gives me a smug look.
