"Bring out your wands."
Dali-dali kong nilabas ang wand na nakatago sa loob ng robe at nakinig sa instructions ng professor namin para sa isang spell na kailangang ituro. Aside from it's an unforgivable spell, kailangan nito ng maigihang practice dahil isang maling bigkas at maling tutok ng wand ay mapapahamak ang gumagamit nito.
"Everybody read what I have written."
"Dauthuwaen." We all said in chorus.
"Do-thu-wen." He repeated. He got a big spider from one of his jars and put it on his table. He looked at it blankly at sinabi niya ang spell. Wala pang isang segundo, nagliyab ang gagamba at naging isang abo.
"The death spell's effect depends on the organism. When we use it to kill a human body, the effect would just work in 10 minutes. After that, different pests would eat his body up, leaving just the bones. But since an arachnid's body is different from our body structure, the effect was just burning up."
Tumayo kaming lahat upang kumuha ng kahit anong organism sa loob ng mga jar at lumayo kami sa isa't isa para isagawa ang spell.
Tomorrow night, lulusob kami sa kuta ng kalaban para matalo sila. Even if it means killing all of them, including their tribe leader. We've been dying to know about their special abilitiesㅡ for centuries. And we just cannot wait for now.
"Dreanna," napalingon ako sa professor ko na nakatingin sa akin, clearly assessing me. "We've been counting on you. You're the next tribe leader and the greatest witch of your age. Please do well."
I nodded in response.

Tumatakbo ako sa isang tahimik na pasilyo, malayo sa ingay na nagaganap mula sa labas. Kanina pa nagsimula ang labanan sa pagitan ng dalawang tribe, at aaminin kong nagulat kami dahil hindi na naging sorpresa ang paglusob namin. They knew all along at tila naghihintay nalang sila.
I was about to open the first door I see when someone grabbed my wand away at dahil sa pagkabigla sa presensya niya, I let go from it in a blink.
"I see you're trying to meddle with our top secret. Sorry but as a heir, it's strictly forbidden. Specially with our rival's heiress."
Prente siyang nakapamulsa sa harap ko. Hawak ang dalawang wand at isa doon ay inagaw niya sa akin. He's wearing their outfitㅡ an all-black suit and a black cape with some red linings, some sort of a vampire but with a special thingㅡ can do magic.
"Stay away from me and bring that wand back, you idiot." I hissed. Nginisian niya lang ako.
"Aren't you tired? You're now in your twenties pero sinusunod mo pa rin ang lahat ng kasakiman ng pamilya mo. Why don't you be like me who only wants the special ability na ituturo na sa akin kapag ipapasa na ang trono?" Kasunod no'n ay ang pagsandal niya sa akin sa pader. He's locking me up!
"I'm not doing this damn thing because of what they told me to do. I'm doing this for the throne. Kailangan kong makuha ang tiwala nila to use the damn death spell to them and have new rules as a leader. Wag mo kong pangunahan."
He smiled. I smiled too. This is our plan from the very start, anyway. Fool our parents that we're rivals when in fact, our plan is to kill them and then we'll form an alliance.
"When that day comes, please kill them immediately so we can get married," he passionately kissed me after he said those words. "I love you," he said, which made me smile.
While kissing, he unknowingly let go of the wand he was holding. Agad kong kinuha iyon at bumitaw sa pagkakahalik sa kanya. Itinutok ko sa kanya ang wand na hawak ko at walang anu-ano'y binigkas ko ang spell.
"Dauthuwaen." Bumulagta siya sa harap ko.
"Dr-dreanna..." Tila hindi siya makapaniwala sa ginawa ko.
"Sorry not sorry. Tiwala mo ang kinukuha ko at ikaw ang papatayin ko. Ikaw ang talo. At the end of the day, I'll still remain loyal to my tribe, unlike you."
Tinalikuran ko siya saka pumasok sa kwarto kung nasaan ang sikretong iniingatan nila. Nang makuha ko na ang kailangan ko ay may binulong ako sa wand upang ipadala sa kanila ang mensahe ko.
"Retreat. We already won."
