We lean together.
The calmness of rain falling is enough.
He leans in.
I blink and mirror his every move.
We look down.
Thunder rolls.
We both breathe.
The puddles spread.
We lean towards each other again.
Barely noticeable thunder begins to thrum beneath our ears.
Our lips touch.
Lightning strikes.
We lean apart.
He smiles.
The sun smiles.
I smile.
A breath I didn't know I was holding slips out.
Wind blows a wisp of my hair in front of my face.
He reaches up.
The petals of his hand brush my hair back to the other side.
The sun shows, rain still falling.
Our hearts thrum as one.
We can see the love in each other's eyes.
