[Zane's POV]

Losing my elemental powers is not something to be happy about, Kai made that very obvious. Without our powers, training Lloyd would be quite a chore. But lucky for us, (Y/N) was able to help us get jobs. (Y/N)... There was something about them. They always did the right thing.

I was on my shift at the restaurant, working hard and fast on the job. We needed to money for that suite. For Lloyd. As I flipped around the eggs I was cooking, I couldn't help but let my mind wander. I should be focused, but someone kept clouding my non-existent brain. Not that I'm complaining, for that someone is (Y/N). The kindest person I had ever met. The sweetest treat. The most priceless treasure. But why was I thinking about (Y/N) this way? It didn't really seem...programmed into my system. Then again, there were lots of things I weren't programmed to do, but ended up doing other stuff anyway. Like becoming a ninja. ...Or was it truly my destiny? "You were built to protect those who cannot protect themselves." My father had once said. Was being a ninja a part of that?

"It's true, at the bank." The customer sitting in front of me said. "I hear they stole all that money, and no one's doing anything about it." My eyes widened and leaned in to get more information, but not seem too suspicious. Suddenly, the kid sitting next to the customer had an egg on his head. I gasped as I looked at my spatula in my hand, not far from the kid's head. I must've dropped it by accident!

"U-Uh! I'm sorry!" I cried, dropping the spatula by accident. My boss walked in, seeing the commotion I had caused. He scowled at me from across the room.

"You're fired!" He yelled at me.

My eyes widened and my body suddenly felt hot. "I-It must be my hard drive overheating!" I said, looking down at my reflection in the spatula. The false skin on my face was starting to peel off. I slapped a hand over it, staring into the eyes of the terrified family in front of me. "I-I mean...Nevermind." I remembered the bank robbery I heard about and panicked. "I'm going!"

I managed to make it to the bank as Jay and Kai were too. I also made it just in time to see Cole get fired. "I'll make it up to you, I swear!" Cole begged.

"Hmm, no." His boss said, making Cole's eyes widen. We needed that money and I took a wild guess, thinking Jay and Kai must've gotten fired too. "Why don't you go home and get a good night's rest, and go ahead and sleep in? In fact, sleep in all day for all I care! Because you're fired!" He stormed back in the building and Cole looked at us.

"Ugh, looks like we're all in the same boat." Kai said, visibly frustrated.

"Eh, that's okay." Cole said. "I hated that job anyway. Let's go! They're getting away!"

"Which way did they go?" Jay asked.

"I overheard them saying something about the subway." Cole said.

"Wait, the subway?" I asked. Cole nodded. "(Y/N)'s working down there right now! I can call her and ask if they've seen anything!"

"Ugh! Nindroids! They can do anything, can't they!?" Jay said as I pressed a button on my arm. A hatch opened up and I was calling (Y/N). They were the only one with a phone and helped me install a calling system.

"G-Guys!?" (Y/N) cried over the other side of the line. They were breaking up.

"(Y/N), the bank just got robbed and they said they would be in the subway! Have you seen anything suspicious?" Cole asked, grabbing my arm.
