Today was.. Special. Why? Little (Y/N) was moving out of Calamari County to Inkopolis Square! A fresh new start was all she needed. (Y/N)'s parents waved her a farewell, Gave a long grouphug before watching their child leave with her suitcases and head out to move into her own home. Time goes fast, huh? Her möther could've sworn it was yesterday when the (I/C) colored squid was 4 years old or so! The (I/C) colored girl let out a sigh, she had to admit, she's going to miss her parents. She'll definitely visit them sometime, even if the distance between the square and Calamari County is pretty long, It'll be fine. Back to business, (Y/N) waited for the train. When it arrived at the station, she waited for the other cephalopods to exit the vehicle before entering herself and taking a seat. Woah. Some squids look pretty funky! They've got really nice headgear and all. (Y/N) would compliment them, but— She's shy to say the least. She let out a dreamy sigh, thinking of ever becoming as fresh as the other cephalopods in the square. Hopefully she can make some new friends. The ride to Inkopolis Square was long, so during the ride she fell asleep. Upon arrival, the squid woke up just in time. 'Phew.. Glad i woke up on time so didn't accidentally miss this stop.' She thought to herself before exiting the train. The girl took out her phone to check her destination before going there, and there it is. Her own house. (Y/N) unlocked the door with the keys she's gotten, emptied her suitcases and flopped onto the couch. "Can't.. Sleep.. Yet,," She slightly whined to herself. After all, she still has to meet her new neighbors. She wants to make a good impression! She put on some casual clothes before heading out of the house, turning off the lights and such, and lastly locking her door. She took a deep breath, encouraging herself, 'Come on.. You can do this!...' before knocking on one of her neighbors' door. The door opened, and she was met with a female with long blue tentacles, Wearing headphones. (Y/N) Gulped, "H-Hi!.. My name's (Y/N) And.. I'm your new neighbor..!" She introduced herself, but couldn't help but stutter. Her neighbor chuckled, "Hello! I'm Headphones. Welcome to Inkopolis Square!" She welcomed with a warm smile. "I haven't seen you around in the Square nor the plaza, Are you from Calamari County?" She asked, tilting her head to the side to which (Y/N) responded, "Ah, yes, I am." She shyly nodded. "Oh, cool! The square is pretty different compared to Calamari County. But i'm sure you'll get the hang of it." Headphones assured her new neighbor. "Ah.. Alright. It was nice to meet you, Headphones..! I'm going to go greet my other neighbor, L-Let's talk some other time okay?.." "Alright! It was nice to meet you too, (Y/N)!" She waved before closing the door. (Y/N) couldn't help but smile, She actually managed to talk to a stranger!— Well, Now they're acquaintances. Probably. Onto neighbor number 2! The squid took a deep breath once more before knocking onto the door. Creak. The door was opened by someone wearing a gasmask. The (I/C) squid kind of felt pressured by his presence. It was as if he was.. Like, really strong. "..." The male didn't say anything. "E-Err.. Hi..! I'm (Y/N) and i'm your new n-neighbor!.." She introduced herself, man the stuttering was making her doubt herself a bit on her end. "Heeeeeeeey. Iiiiit's nice too meet youuu. My nameeee's Mask." Mask introduced himself. (Y/N) couldn't help but notice that he was playing a game on his tv before answering the door. She kind of got curious and decided to ask him about it, "U-Uhm.. I couldn't help but notice.. You were playing a game b-before you answered the door?.. What game were you playing if i may ask?.." She asked. Mask answered, "Suuuuperrrr Smash bros Ultimate." Her eyes lit up, she always wanted to play that game! Although she never got the chance to play it. "Woah!.. R-Really?" The male squid nodded, "....If you waaant. You can play a round wiiiiith me. Or two." He offered. "Oh?.. Well.. I mean.. I don't know how to play.. Ahah.." (Y/N) sweat. "Ohhhhh. I'll teach you." He offered once more. "W-Well if you want to.. then.. Y-yeah!" (Y/N) smiled softly. Mask was one to hate smiles, but that smile? It was one of the beautifulest smiles he had ever seen, and that's coming from someone who dislikes such things. He couldn't help but feel flustered before letting her in his house. The two squids sat on the couch, with a bit of distance between them. He handed her a controller. It was amazing how (Y/N) seemed so amazed by a controller. She probably didn't get to play this console. After a while of Mask teaching (Y/N) how to play properly, they played a few rounds. Well.. a "few". Thing is, They've been playing 15 rounds so far, and they were having fun. (Y/N) opened up to Mask, She was less of a stuttering mess if you got to know her. Mask wasn't wearing his gasmask anymore since it was less likely for his hay fever to act up inside his own house. He gave the (I/C) colored girl a bit of context on that.
"Nooooo way." Mask sweatdropped. He got beat by (Y/N) for the twelfth time, He has raised a monstEr. She giggled, "Hahaha! Don't underestimate me!" "I swear, You're smuuurfing." He huffed, before putting down his controller. (Y/N) put down hers as well and chuckled. Mask took the two controllers and put them back in their original spot. The girl who was still on the couch yawned, she was getting tired. While Mask was rearranging a few things of his, (Y/N) fell asleep on the couch. It was pretty late after all. Mask couldn't help but blush from this. He admit that this was pretty cute. He threw over a blanket over the two of them and let himself fall asleep next to her.
