- your mom was a Gotham socialite and famous hotel heiress who had a brief summer fling with Bruce Wayne about twenty years ago.
- when her parents found out she was pregnant they were less than pleased to say the least
- they gave her three options 1. marry the father of the child 2. get an abortion 3. get disowned
- marriage never appealed to your mother, not even if it was to a billionaire, but what had always appealed to her was motherhood so she decided to keep you despite the possibility of being disowned by her family.
- she moved to New York's upper east side and started her life with you there
- lucky for both of you she was smart with her money so she invested it well and you two never had to want for anything.
- you moved away at 18 to attend Gotham University, which had the best program for your major.
- side note: you may or may not have a crush on one Kyle Rayner I can't confirm nor deny
- your mom bought you an apartment and a car as a gift for getting into college
- during your second year of college however your mother suddenly passed away after coming to visit you, due to an attack by the joker at a restaurant she was dining at with a few old friends, who also sadly passed away.
- as fate would have it you would have to pick up a job at coffee shop to help you pay for college since in your mother's will you weren't allowed access to any of the money she left behind for you until you turned 25 and were mature enough to make smart financial decisions
- in life your mother never kept anything from you, she told you who your father was and never stopped you from trying to approach him, you however never did due to a fear of being rejected by him or being accused for being after his money, so you kept your distance
- you did occasionally check up on him through social media and couldn't help but feel your heart warm every time news broke that he had adopted yet another kid from a troubled background.
- you may have been too scared to approach him but you were happy to know he was a good man
- Bruce on the other hand had only recently (like a week ago) found out about your existence
- he had gotten sloppy on one of his recent outings as batman and bled out a lot, something anyone could use to find out his secret identity
- ^ so he had Alfred do a dna sweep all over gotham to find anything that heavily matched his dna so he could take care of it. Luckily there was minimal blood on the Gotham streets from his recent fight against Bane
