The DMC/ Honkai Impact Timeline.

10000 BC: The Demon world invaded Earth, slaughtering countless humans, and overrunning countless towns, cities and countries.

9950 BC: Sparda Betrayed Demon Kind, waging a war against Demon kind alone.

9850 BC: Sparda and Mundus enter a ten day and night conflict, until Sparda seals Mundus.

9850 BC to 100 AD: Sparda vanishes into history, killing Demons that escape into the human world, and assisting in the creation of several towns and cities that would stand until the modern era.

101 AD: The Demon Abigail invades the human world, assaulting Japans capital city, Sparda, along with an unknown Priestess, ally together, in order to seal the Demon.

500 AD: The Island City of Fortuna is created by Sparda. who left a single, sealed Demon gate in the city as a sign of his waning power.

1800 AD: Sparda founded the City of Redgrave, and settled down, staying in the city to protect its residents.

1890 AD: Sparda meets Eva, falling in love with the human woman and marrying her a year later.

1895 AD: Eva gives Birth to Sparda's sons, Dante and Vergil.

1902 AD: Sparda goes missing after going to deal with a demonic invasion, he is presumed dead by the citizens of Redgrave.

1903 AD: Redgrave has a small outbreak of Demons, who were hunting for the blades of Sparda in order to reopen the gates to the Demon world, killing Dante and Vergil's mother, Eva.

1945 AD: Dante is commissioned a pair of .45 M1911 sidearms by the gunsmith Nell Goldstein, under the alias Tony Redgrave.

1946 AD: Nell Goldstein is murdered, leaving her Husband a widower and single parent, while Dante hunts down her murderer, a higher class Demon who had caught the scent of Spardas blood around the woman.

1960 AD: Vergil contacts Dante for the first time, telling him to meet at the Temen Ni Gru, the tower created by Demon worshipers and where Sparda died, sealing of the new access point to the Demon world.

1960 AD: Vergil traps himself in the Demon world, unknowing to his son, Nero's existence.

1976 AD: Dante is hired by a woman Named Trish, to kill the Demon King Mundus. Trish is later revealed to be a Demon who was created by Mundus in the Image of Dante's mother Eva.

1978 AD: Dante is once again contacted, to deal with a Demon outbreak on the island Vie Di Marli. An ancient Demon was being resurrected, one worse than Mundus, and Dante had been called to deal with it, and the human organisation that was resurrecting him. Dante, in order to defeat the Demon, closes the portal to the Demon world, trapping himself in the underworld.

1979 AD: Dante returns, only for his old friend lady, to give him a job, concerning the fanatical Order of the Sword. Dante kills the cults leader, Sanctus, in the middle of a prayer session to the Orders Demon God: Sparda. Dante encounters the Holy Knight Nero, a 19 year old Knight of the Order.

The two fight before Dante flees, stating that he Nero were the same. Nero hunts Dante down across the Island of Fortuna, discovering the true face of the Order Of The Sword. He eventually encounters Dante again, who confronts Nero over a Demonic weapon Nero had gathered and demands its return.

They end up fighting after Nero disagrees, which lead to Dante ultimately understanding the young Demon Hunter, why he needed the Demonic blade. He allowed Nero to pass, and to go and fight the now Demonic priest. Dante would later back track to where he first fought Nero, after the young mans capture by Sanctus, as he did, he killed various Demons Nero had already fought against, and turned them into Devil Arms, before eventually reclaiming the Demonic Blade Yamato, using it to destroy the Hell gate in the center of the town, and then attacking the Demonic entity known as the Savior, which was being powered using Nero's lifeforce and demonic energy.
