Azura POV

So I had only special classes today. Ordinary students think it's a class for advanced studying but it's actually about ancient mythologies and other stuff that concerns our powers but the students in the class won't know what ability you have, only the teacher will.

I walked inside and was greeted by the professor and River. "Good morning!" I exclaimed. "What's so good about it?" River grumbled and I was taken aback. He looked up and his eyes went wide. "I'm sorry, I thought you were somebody else" he apologized and I nodded. "What's gotten you all grumpy this morning? Your hair looks disheveled, you have bags under your eyes-" "Wait what are you doing here?" he cut me off and I huffed. "Uhm class?"

"So you have abilities huh? You can't read my mind can you?" his eyes went wide and I smirked sitting next to him, the other two students walking in. "Why? Are you thinking of ways you can strangle that annoying girl that sits at the front of the class without getting caught then No" I laughed at his expression. "I can't read minds River!" I punched his arm softly and he frowned. "Then how did you know I was thinking about that?"

"Dude your eyebrows been twitching since that girl started talking, you thought I was someone else when I said good morning plus," I lowered my voice to a whisper and continued. "That stick guy strangling that stick girl your doodling is quite intriguing... don't want her to bump into that drawing now do we?" he shook his head in amusement before closing his notebook.

"Good observation there Azura... what else can you do?" I smirked and shook my head. "Now what would be the fun in telling you that?" He shook his head and asked no further than that.

"Oh and she's annoying me too... her voice sounds like a cat scratching it's claws on a blackboard" I shuddered and he rubbed his temples. "Ugh tell me about it"

"I would but I'm too lazy" I chuckled and he looked at me in disbelief. "It was a figure of speech!" he deadpanned and I laughed. "I know"

"I'm so fucking hungry, my butt feels numb and I feel like I might just pass out" I complained as we walked toward the cafeteria door. "Would you stop complaining... you'll get used to them, I know I did" River shrugged and I glared at him causing him to raise his hands in mock surrender. "I've been sitting on that fucking hard chair for four hours River... I should've brought a cushion" I rubbed my butt and he laughed. "I'll bring one for you tomorrow" he suggested and I looked up at him. "You don't have to Riv" Yes I called him by his nickname. "I want to Zura and that's final" he said with finality signaling the end of our argument.

"OK OK"

"Oh look, these two have teamed up" Chase appeared in front of us with Lucas and Bentley. I instinctively moved in front of River. "What do you want? Some salt to add to that burn?" I crossed my arms over my chest. "No I came for that punk" he took a step forward but I stood my ground. "I won't let you hurt him Summers" I spat moving towards him. "I don't care about what you think, just get out of my fucking way!" Just then Lucas and Bentley grabbed a hold of my elbows. "Put me down you ignorant assholes"

"Let Chase do what he does Azura" Bentley says and I look at him in astonishment. "What!? Are you even hearing yourselves? You really are brainless baboons" I shook my head in disappointment but my attention was drawn towards the groan now coming out of Rivers mouth. He was lying on the floor holding his stomach with Chase hovering over him. "Chase STOP!!" I screamed causing some lingering students in the hall to look in our direction.

I elbowed Lucas in the stomach and kneed Bentley in the groin. I ran towards River and Chase grabbing a hold of the idiots' collar and shoved him against the lockers his feet hovering over the ground. "I told you to leave him alone Chase... Do I have to write it down for you cause it seems telling you doesn't make any difference?" I whispered menacingly and he looked at me in both fear and anger.
