Azura POV
I walked down the hall with nervous strides. I'm not afraid of my father but I know how angry he can get. So when I got called to the principles office during mythology class, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't think he'd confront me at school because it's been three weeks.
Mythology is one of the special classes that River has with me so you could have guessed what expression he was sporting when I got called to the principles office.
Here's my schedule... Monday normal classes, Tuesday and Wednesday special classes, Thursday normal classes and Friday special classes.
I entered the office and Miss Rosalina gave me a reassuring look.
Oh Rosa if only you knew.
"They're waiting for you" she ushered me towards the principles office and I nodded.
I knocked on the door three times before I heard a 'come in' on the other side. I opened the door slowly putting on my neutral face and walked in.
Sitting there in all his glory was my father. He was wearing a suit and tie. I wanted to scoff but restrained myself. "You asked for me sir?" I asked the principle avoiding eye contact with my father. "We're waiting for Chase" he looked at me with nervous eyes and I arched a suspicious eyebrow. "Why?"
"Because your father needs to -" "this man is not my father" I spat and the principle looked taken aback. "Well he claims that he's your-" "he was 12 years ago... he's nothing but a stranger to me now!" "Azura that's enough! We're waiting for your brother and that's final!" He roared while standing up towering over me but I stood my ground.
"I suggest you move back if you know what's good for you" I said in a flat tone. His blue eyes shifted to my grey ones that were on the verge of turning blue. "Just sit down please" he backed away and I shook my head. "I'm fine with standing" I rolled my eyes and stood with my back against the wall.
"I'm sorry I'm late -" "shut up and sit down Chase!" I cut him off and he glared at me before shutting the door and sitting down in the chair next to our father. "Now that uh that's settled, your father called you both in here because he's concerned about your behaviours... towards eachother" Mr. Johnson cleared his throat.
"Chase tells me that this is your third week at this school -" "What's it to you?" I glare at him and his jaw clenches. "Would you just listen!?" He exclaimed in exasperation lifting his hands up in frsutration and I rolled my eyes. Putting my father and I in the same room is like planting a bomb, it will blow at any ticking minute."Why didn't you ask my mom here Principle Johnson?" I turned to him and frowned. "Mr. Summers says he was your father so there was no need to call your mother" he looked from me to Ben and I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists.
"Well then, I suggest you cut the crap and get to the point Benjamin! " I snapped at him using his full name and he breathed out through his nose. "Stay away from Chase" he said calmly and I chuckled humourlessly. "It's funny how I've heard those words before, " "but-" "not really... I'll leave Chase alone when he decides to stop bullying kids in this school and my friend as well" I looked over at Chase and he rolled his eyes.
"Chase bullying isn't tolerated in this school! you will get expelled!" The principle looked at him in disappointment and he looked at his hands. "He'll stop what he's doing if he knows what's best for him" Ben looked at him sternly and I rolled my eyes instead noticing Chase' sudden change in mood. His shoulders were sagging and he looked tired.
Vulnerable.
I'm not gonna pity him!
"He'll stop when he feels like it Benjamin, no use in forcing him..."
