Ash's POV.
I woke up to light shining in from the window. Sheets puddled over and around my bare torso, a warm arm draped over my ribs on down onto my belly. I blinked the sleep from my eyes and gazed into the sun as it shone through falling snow. I had never seen such a beautiful sight. If there was snow it was only in the grey haze of the day, but now, as the sun rose of the tip of London's high rises, it caught through the gentle white feathers and sprayed colorful diamonds across the sky.
I nudged Harry with my elbow, "Harry." I hissed, "Look, the sun is shining through the snow."
"MMmmMMMMmmm." He groaned and rolled onto his side, stealing the blankets and leaving me exposed.
"Harry!" I shouted and slapped him with my pillow.
"Geezus, what woman?" He snapped and turned back to me. His eyes made eyes contact with my body, gazing over my nakedness before getting a colorful sunray to the eye. He winced as the rainboyray caught his attention. He looked away from me and out the window, looking at the beauty that was a clear, white winter's day.
"I think it's officially christmas season." I whispered to him, leaning in to kiss his ear.
I turned around to look out the window with him. He threw more blankets onto me and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me flush against his warm body. We sat there, me in his lap, both of us piled high in blankets, watching flakes fall and catch the sun in a beautiful display of color and white.
"God I love snow." Harry whispered.
I bit my lip and in barely a squeak, "God I love you."
Harry tensed under me and for a moment I panicked. Next all I could hear was the most joyful laugh ever rumbling from his chest as his arms tightened around my waist. He flopped my down onto the bed causing me to laugh as well as he attacked my face in rapid-fire pecks. Some of the kissed were light and butterfly-ie, others were wet and hard on my skin, but I loved them all.
"Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Oh My Days I Love You too!" he practically shouted between kissed.
I laughed harder, "Harry shushh," I tried to get him to calm down, "Lea is probably sleeping, she works the night shift tonight."
Harry pulled back to give me an annoyed glance, "I don't care I f***ing love you."
He pulled me into him for a long and hard kiss and I melted. I slid my arms up around his neck, relaxing every muscle in my body into his embrace with eagerness. I tasted his skin on my lips like wine on the edge of a glass. Felt the blood pulsing in his veins under his neck. Ever curve and beat and taste of him was mine and it melted me like spring coming to melt away winter.
I pulled away for a breath, "You're the weirdest man I have ever met in my life and I love you no matter what."
He smirked, "You're the toughest woman I have ever met in my life and I love you no matter what." He enunciated, making a point that he loved me too and even added a boop to my nose for good measure.
"We should celebrate Christmas together as a family." I suggested, running my hands down his arm.
"Like with the guys and Lea?" He asked.
I nodded, "Yeah, it could be fun."
He shook his head and slid back into his position behind me, holding me against him while we watched the snow fall, "We should spend New Years with them, but for Christmas you're coming with me to Guernsey to meet my family."
"What?" I snapped my head back.
"Yes." He said and kissed the tip of my nose, "You, me, my mum and dad, my brother and sister, all together in Guernsey. My Gran and Grandpa might come out too, but for sure everyone else."
"You want me to meet your family?"
He laughed, "Well I want you to be my family, but for now yeah, I'd like you to meet them."
I smiled, "Well Christmas is only a little more than two weeks away, we should buy our plane tickets."
Harry smiled sheepishly, "I may have already sort of bought them for us."
I slapped his shoulder, "You were going to force me to meet your family?"
His mouth fell open in a gape, " I was not going to force you, you didn't force me to go back home to California with you. I would have hope for the same voluntary companionship."
I let the smile that I was holding back creep onto my face. Harold Lewis, the center of my new family, was inviting me to meet his parents and siblings. London had begun to feel like home, but now it was really feeling like where I was meant to be. Just the thought of a warm home with piles of food, chilly weather outside, and several people who made me overflow with love was enough to make me want to cry. And I did. I cried silent, happy tears right there in front of Harry.
"Nonono, don't cry, I'm sorry I won't make you," Harry hissed and embraced me, stroking the back of my neck and cradling my head into his chest.
I shook my head and pulled away from him. I took his warm cheeks into my hands, cupping them in the chilly tips of my fingers. I leaned my face into his, pressing out foreheads and noses together.
"You don't understand," I sniffled, "I'm not crying because I don't want to, I'm crying because I have never wanted something so much in my life."
"You're that excited about going on holiday to my house?" He pulled back and looked down at me quizically.
"No you melon," I laughed, "I'm excited because I get to be apart of your family."
His face fell. We stared at each other in silence once again. It seemed lately this was all that we were doing. Staring at each other. Feeling each other. Listening to the heart beating in the other's chest. It's like when a hiker gets to the top of the mountain and they just can't get enough of the view, yes its because the view is pretty, but it's also because they realize that they can see the curve of the world. They can see the curve of the very thing that is allowing them to live. The collision of the sky and the air we breath to the earth and the ground that we live on. The rushing of the oceans and the water we drink. They stare because they realize that their life is only as significant as the very thing they're looking at.
I stared at him, because my life was in front of me. With blue eyes. And an awkward smile. And damn how I loved him.
