We all ran around the room like crazy maniacs looking for a source of light. None of us were thinking straight. What had just happened scared us all to death.

Suddenly the room was filled with a soft haze coming from the moon. I had never felt so grateful to see the moonlight. We all headed to the window, huddling in a tight bundle just below the window. We looked around at each other to make sure we were all there.

“Guys where’s Charisma?” Alekk asked looking around frantically. I looked around squinting my eyes in the darkness but only being able to make out the furniture that we had moved to the side of the room.

“I’m going to look for her.” I said getting up. My legs felt as if I hadn’t walked in years. My head spun a little as I stood up but that wasn’t enough to stop me from looking for my best friend.

I walked forwards looking for her. I walked into the kitchen feeling my way by touching the counters and chairs. I reached the hall finding no sign of her.

Suddenly a cold hand touched my shoulder. I screamed and jumped away from what had touched me. I was scared to turn around and see what had touched me. I was holding my breath as I slowly turned. I let out a breath of relief when I saw that it was only Alekk.

            “Shit Alekk you scared me!”

“Sorry I just wanted to help-“ His sentence was interrupted by a loud bang that came from above our heads. The bang had come from upstairs. We looked at each other as if signaling to go look upstairs.

We both walked to the stairs. I was scared out of my mind. My mind seemed to be playing tricks on me making me see things that weren’t really there. I thought I saw something on the step and I tripped and bumped into Alekk behind me. I heard him curse.

I held on to the stair railing this time so I wouldn’t fall again. The stairs were dark and I couldn’t seem to make anything out. Once we got to the top of the stairs I turned to the first door on the left. I walked over to it and took a deep breath before putting my hand on the knob. My hand shook as I turned the doorknob.

It easily opened and inside everything seemed normal. The moonlight seeped through the cream colored curtains giving us enough light to see. Alekk looked around looking in every possible place where a person could hide. I looked in the closet but found it empty since my parents had taken most of their clothes.

We sneaked out and went into the library. It smelled like musty old books. We looked behind bookshelves and couches but still no sign of Charisma.

The last rooms were my room and the bathroom. I went into my room and Alekk went to check the bathroom. I looked around my room. Everything seemed to be in the same places. I suddenly heard a movement from under the bed. The wooded floor creaked as I walked over to my bed.

I got on my knees and took a deep breath. I slowly bent down to see what was hidden under my bed. The door of my room slammed open causing me to jump up high. My head snapped to the direction of the door and almost fainted of relief.

Alekk stood there with Charisma. I jumped up of the floor running up to Charisma and hugging her. I had never been so happy to see her. She seemed to be in shock because she didn’t say a word to me at all.

We helped her go down the stairs. When we got to the living room they had all put the furniture back. We sat down on the couch and watched Charisma in silence. There was no sign of the notebook that she had or the pen. I was curious as to what it had said.

Suddenly the lights turned on and the TV did too. The volume was all the way up on the TV scaring us all. Charisma screamed and covered her ears with her hands.

“Turn it off!” She screamed. Hunter ran to the remote and turned the TV off. Something seemed strange about Charisma. She looked a little strange to me but then again we had all gotten a big scare.

Charisma huddled close with Alekk shaking with fear. I wondered what had happened to her but we wouldn’t know until she fully recovered.

“I want to go home.” She whispered into Alekk’s shirt. Alekk smoothed her hair back and kissed the top of her head.

“I know babe, we will in a bit.” I wanted to leave here too but it was my house and I had to stay here. I wished all of this hadn’t happened. It was all too scary and I wanted it all gone.

“I’m going to take her to my house to calm down.” Alekk said standing up and helping Charisma up too. We all said bye as they left.

Hunter and Amee said they would stay with me so I wouldn’t be alone at home. We all laid blankets on the living room floor in hopes of getting sleep but we knew that we weren’t going to get any.
