Maddie's POV

It's lunch and instead of being in the cafeteria talking, eating, and laughing with my friends, I'm here in the library reading False Prince. For the second time. I'm sitting on a chair that's in the far corner of the library where almost nobody can see me and where it's quiet. I was just about to turn the page when I feel my phone vibrate in my back pocket. It's a text from a blocked number.

'From : Unknown

Meet me by the guys locker room after lunch.
-Gilinsky'

'To : Unknown

Why?'

'From : unknown

It's important. Don't worry, I'm by myself. I'm not going to hurt you.'

I kept debating in my mind wether I should or shouldn't go. I mean, he is my bully. He could beat me up if I don't, or if I do. But he promised not to hurt me so I guess I'm okay?

'He also promised not to leave your side and look at yourself now,' my mind repeated.

I decided to go. If he does hurt me, it won't hurt because it's been this way for more than 3 years. And if he doesn't, then I have no idea where this will end.

The bell rang and I cursed at myself. I got up from my comfortable seat and put my book in my bag and said goodbye to Mrs. Dixon the librarian.

"Hi, I'm new. My names July, like the month. Do you know where room E222 is?" July said.

"Um yeah. Go up these stairs, down the closest hallway and it'll be the second door to your left," I said with a shy smile.

"Thank you so mu-," she was cut off by Aaron Carpenter, one of Jacks friends aka another one of my bullies.

"July, don't talk to her. She's a loser. If you're seen talking to her here, you'll catch loser-itis," he said with a disgusted look on his face.

Tears brimmed my eyes and I ran to the locker rooms. Everyone was laughing at me and shouting mean and horrible things at me. Another day in the life of me.

I got to the locker rooms to see Jack pacing back and forth between the gym doors and the locker room doors.

"I'm here, what do you want?"

"Come with me," he grabbed my wrist leading me outside of the school.

"Jack where are we going?" I asked trying to free myself from his grip.

"Somewhere."

"Tell me where we're going! I'm not very happy with you, and this is making it worse."

"Goddammit stop being so fucking stubborn will you?"

"Not until you tell me where you're taking me," I pushed.

"Just trust me, I'm not gonna hurt you."

"Hurt me? Oh sweetie I'm far past being hurt. For 3 years you've made my life a living hell. By now, I'm numb when it comes to feelings."

He stayed quiet and kept pulling me towards the place. It looked like a cabin. The type of cabin you'd see in the middle of a lake. He pulled out the keys while I heard faint voices coming from inside. He finally opened the door and everyone turned to look at us and got quiet. And by everyone, I mean Jacks "crew".
