Michael.

"Okay. We have the song down, now just finish the lyrics, and we can preform tomorrow." Luke said, handing me a copy of his completed work.

I had to complete the lyrics though.

I nodded, even though I wasn't going to do it.

I already had one of his songs.

Completed. Easy grade.

He can just perform on his own.

I can just have a better grade this way.

I got home and ran up to my room, changing into sweatpants.

I threw my jeans into the washer.

I called Ashton over, so he should be here any minute.

Once I heard the door open, I knew it was him.

"Hey Michael." He said, jumping on the couch beside me.

"Hi." I mumbled.

"How's your project?" He asked.

"Finished." I said, looking in his direction.

"Really?!" He asked, surprised at me.

"It's been finished for a week. I got a song out of Luke's songbook that he'd already written." I said.

"Wait. I thought you two were working together.?" He said, clearly confused.

"He wrote his song, and asked me to write the rest of the lyrics. I'll just tell him tomorrow that I want to perform alone."

"Michael. That's mean. And I bet you didn't even finish his song." He mumbled.

"I'm not going to."

"Why not?" He asked.

"Because. I think it would be funny to see his reaction."

Ashton didn't reply after that.

I looked over to him, and saw him looking down at his lap.

He looked back up.

"Just give me his work. I'll finish it."

"Whatever. I put it in my pocket-" I started but realized I wasn't wearing my jeans anymore.

I ran to the washing machine, pulling them out, and quickly grabbing the paper out.

I opened the soaking wet paper, and saw ink running down the paper.

"C'mon Michael!" Ashton sighed, slowly grabbing the paper from me.

I looked back at him and he looked disappointed at me.

I shrugged.

"This wasn't cool at all." He whispered, handing it back to me.

I sat it in front of the kitchen window, allowing it to dry.
