“Hello Emma,” Calix greeted, smirking my way. My eyes widened a fraction, but then turned into slits as I glared.
Leonard whistled when he saw Calix’s suit. “Man, I love your suit!” he yelled, grinning. We all turned to him.
“Oh gosh, what are you, gay?” Dan gasped, making Claire spit out her chocolate milk and glare. Chet was trying not to laugh, but wasn’t succeeding.
“No, I love girls to much,” Leonard said, wincing Dan’s way. She rolled her eyes and they started their argument again. I stood up and glared at Calix.
“Don’t mind them, so why are you here?” I asked, getting annoyed when his smirk grew. I have no idea who he is, and what he is doing here, but I just want to finish school in peace, not with him and his annoying smirk.
“To pick you up for something special, didn’t your parents tell you?” Calix laughed, his eyes twinkling. I rolled my eyes. I felt my phone vibrate, and reached into my pocket, pulling out my phone and reading the message from Mum.
Oh yeah, Calix is picking you up. Have fun! I rubbed circles on my temples and glared up at him again. I shook my head.
“I just can’t leave, I have school!” I tried to reason, to give him an excuse, but nothing. He chuckled, a deep vibrating chuckle and I felt, somehow, like swooning.
“I excused you from school already,” Calix said. I raised an eye brow and turned around, to find everyone staring at me and I tried to come up with something to say to them, but couldn’t.
“Just go, I’ll give you your homework,” Destin said, smiling. Everyone started to shoo us away, and I tried to say something, but nothing would come out, so I went with him. I shoved my phone back in my pocket, taking it off vibrate, and hauled my bag over my shoulder, wishing I could hit him over the head with it.
We got to the car, and he opened the door for me, getting at calls from the guys. I rolled my eyes, throwing my bag in the car and got in, buckling up and looked at Calix who was humming silently. I sat back, crossing my arms over my chest and pouted slightly.
“Where are we going?” I asked, sliding down in my seat. Calix turned his head to look at me, and sighed, turning back to the road. His hair fell in his eyes, and he flicked his hair, a small gesture I know, but don’t remember.
“I’m taking you out,” was all he said, and I closed my eyes, letting sleep take over me. But before I could let the darkness take over, I heard Calix murmur something.
“That reminds me, this is like a movie I’d watched.” I slowly opened my eyes and looked at Calix, grumbling ‘Ahuh’ under my breath. My eyelids started to drop, but I kept them open, trying to listen to what Calix had to say.
“They were alone together in the car. The girl inquired, ‘Where are we going?’ and the man answered, ‘With you, I would go anywhere; Even if our destination is hell.’” Calix said, looking me in the eye, his expression soft and caring. I felt like melting. “The girl would say, ‘Oh Flint’ and they would kiss passionately,” he ended, making kissing sounds and chuckled.
I blushed and said, “Look at the road!” He laughed for a little bit more before looking back at the road. I started to close my eyes again, and I drifted off into oblivion.
I heard someone calling my name, and I murmured, “Hmm.’’ I kept my eyes closed, and tried to roll over, but noticed the seat belt had moved and I was rolled into someone’s arms.
“Wake up Emma, we’re here,” Calix whispered. I finally opened my eyes and rubbed them, trying to get the sleep out and gasped. We were at a type of resort I couldn’t get the name of. There were sandy blue beaches, rocky cliffs, and in the distance, you could see whales breaching.
