the disappearance of sabrina's older sister sprung up issues that she didn't know she had; starting with the ones her father created when he left. sabrina was two when richard maddock (her mother's first husband) found out that sabrina wasn't his child, but instead the child of his best friend. sabrina was eight when richard disappeared from her life completely. richard picked up his life and moved to new york to start fresh, sending his daughters post card when he felt like it.

his absence created a black hole in sabrina's heart; she became filled with rage that only her sister could calm, so when tabitha left she finally snapped. that was her last day in the house she grew up in; sabrina grew deathly pale to the point where her mother thought that she stopped breathing, all 'rina could hear was her quickening heartbeat and a screaming voice in her head. the voice kept yelling at her to scream ⏤ to let it out and not hold back any longer ⏤ so she did. the moment the sound of her scream left her throat the whole building began to shake, the pillars that held it up crumbled and the foundation cracked from the floors to the ceilings. by the time 'rina was done screaming the building was left in shambles, and rowena knew there was no way that she could stay there and be safe.

a week later the bishop women were staying in a five-star hotel on the east coast. rowena was looking for a family member that she could lean on and sabrina was enjoying the all you can eat shrimp. on sabrina's thirteenth birthday she snuck into her mothers room and found a box labelled "vince yancey". even though she knew she shoudl have put it back, the young girl couldn't help but snoop. she opened the box and poured out the contents; a picture of a baby and a man holding her was the first thing she saw, she flipped it over and read the caption "sabrina and vince, first father daughter meet up."

the young witch couldn't believe her eyes, her mother had always told her she didn't know her bio-dad, but there was photo evidence that said she did. the next thing she opened was a folder labelled "emergency contacts." the folder listed two family members, their addresses, their phone numbers, and a signed paper listing them as the godparents. so sabrina bishop packed a suitcase of clothes and took some money (the money from behind the bookshelf, in the cookie jar, under her mothers mattress, and from her piggy bank) and set off to mystic falls to find her long lost aunt.
