But, as she stood outside her long lost aunt's apartment door she wondered if she made the wrong choice. She questioned whether or not she should turn around and go back to her mother, whether she should beg for forgiveness or tough it out like the big girl she was. The one thing she was sure of in that moment was that if she sister was standing beside her, Sabrina would already be through the door. So, the thirteen-year-old witch knocked on the hard, brown, wooden door with the golden number 33 attached to it.

Sabrina could feel her heart beating from her throat, a feeling she often got before presenting in front of the class or eating with her mother. Questions started to pop into her head; what if she doesn't want me, what if this was a waste of time, what if she calls my mom? Sabrina was so stressed over the questions filling her head that she barely had time to process the fact that the door was opening. The woman, her aunt, was beautiful, more beautiful than anyone she had seen before. Musta got my looks from my dad's side of the family.

'Rina shot the older woman a small, goofy smile and stuck her hand out. "I'm 'Rina. I-I mean Sabrina, but you can call me 'Rina."

Her aunt gave her an equally goofy smile in return. "May. May I ask what you are doing here, young lady?"

Sabrina rocked back on her heels and chewed on her bottom lip. "Lookin' for you. My mom has a folder in her closet, it says you're my aunt. I was hoping I could stay with you."

May let out a breath and opened her door wider. "You better come in."

'Rina was quite proud of herself, she had managed to make it all the way to Mystic Falls without being stopped or questioned by any authorities, and by the looks of it she wasn't being sent back anytime soon. Her legs swung back and forth as she ate a box of chocolate cookies that were given to her.

"I've got to admit, kid," May started. "You've got balls. I met your mom a couple times, she's quite scary, I'll give her that . . . Want to tell me why you ran away?"

Sabrina kicked off the chair and sat beside her aunt on the couch, motioning to share her cookies. "I wanted to be happy, I wasn't happy at home. You're my godmother so you seemed like the most obvious person to go to, ever seen Cinderella?"

May chewed her lip and thought for a moment. Rowena was a horrible person, May wouldn't wish her on anybody, but keeping Sabrina in her custody would be hard.

'Rina could sense her uneasiness, so she put a hand on her aunts knee. "I'm over the age of twelve, so I can choose who I get to live with. I read it in a law book. Plus, you're loaded, you could afford a lawyer."

May smiled at the girl. "Who told you I was 'loaded'?"

"My mom kept diaries from college, said that her boyfriends best friend was rich."
